Best place to stay in Biarritz/Anglet

I had an incredible time here during the 3 weeks I was in Biarritz. I stayed at a number of places but the Surf Hostel Biarritz was by far the best. There is a brilliant atmosphere - very relaxed and friendly. It was so easy to meet so many amazing people - I have come away with a lot of friends! Dörte, the owner, was extremely welcoming and accommodating and always sorted any problems I encountered. And the volunteers were so much fun, always participating in hostel activities, whether it be surfing, volleyball, trips into the centre or playing games. I could not recommend this place more highly and cannot wait to return!

Owner is dishonest

Never stay there! Owner is rogue and dishonest.
We received the wrong door code to check-in by night. We could never enter at 10pm, and we had to book another hotel. Despite immediate messages, video, and screen captures, the owner doesn't care and refuses to reimburse: they sent a code; even we received it at 7:40am the day after; that's all for them! It's not a cancellation; we could never access the room. Their last replies are "reception is closed at 8pm" and "let it go!".
We have to open a procedure to expect being reimbursed when honesty could solve that within 24h.
PS: address is lost in the middle of a block of buildings; it took 30 minutes to find the door!

Superbly Welcoming People and top breakfast!

Stayed here for 10 days recently. Did not regret choosing this place. The owners Derta and Thommas are amazingly welcoming and friendly and the breakfast is next level! I took my own surfboard, however, there are boards here for everyone, from beginner, to advanced. Everything from massive 8 foot foamies, to 6 foot fish tail quads and even a foam mini Simmons (which was my favourite for pulling into the low-tide closeout mini barrels provided by the nearest beach!) The staff aren’t permanent but when I stayed they were excellent and made you feel extremely welcome. The vibe is great and if it’s flat you can pick a surf movie from the collection upstairs and relax! If, like me you want to get up early and surf 6am (before official breakfast) the curfew is respected and a selection of cereals and fruit can be arranged with staff! So glad I chose this place and I’ll be back next year! Thanks guys.

it was niche to have met you at our hostel.
you are right about that surfboard,
its there because i have tested it and i love it too..
hopefully the sandbanks do this year the same as last year, cote des basques was on fire..

one of the best hostels

This was about the 20th Hostel I stayed so far at and definitely one of my favourites. The design is very cosy and welcoming. The Kitchen is perfectly equipped for cooking and hanging around with other guests. Which leads also to one of the main characteristics of this hostel: getting in contact with other guests and the staff easily. Their slogan "come as a guest and leave as a friend" seems to be true.
Bathroom was clean and built to last, no chance for mold for example in the shower.
You have enough space in the room and a power outlet, shelf and a curtain at your bed. The mattress was not too soft.
And yeah the Surfboard and breakfast is included!!
So all in all a perfect hostel with family atmosphere!!

Looks expensive, but put it all together and it's not!

I was hesitant at first because of the price of the rooms, but since you get your surf board included and a wetsuit is only like €5 for the day, it all adds up! Free shuttle buses to the beach, where you would pay €25 for just one or two hours board with wetsuit. The hostel is clean, cosy, nice kitchen, very kind staff, it's great.

thanks for the details about your experience with us,
you are very very right,
thats why its good and important to look at the details in the price.
specially ...you could change the boards as much as you want, you could try everyday another board
and even after 2 weeks you are stil not done with all of them.
