Outstanding Hotel

What a very special treat to stay here for 4 nights with our Morgan sportscar and was the highlite of the ancient village residents. Beautiful hotel, gardens and a very warm welcome from the owners John and Jane. The surroundings very picturesque and a good base to explore the French Pyrenees.
John cooks evening meals three times a week and there are 2 restaurants minutes away in the village. We'd definitely be back if in the area, no question. Simon and Elaine

Perfect mountain destination

Fabulous two day stay in this glorious chambre d'hôte with magnificent views from the bedrooms and garden. St Savin is quiet and quaint, centred around an ancient abbey and square - an absolute must for anyone exploring the Pyrenees on foot, on bikes or on a road trip. John and Jane are warm, friendly, helpful hosts and all food is lovingly prepared from scratch in the hotel's kitchen. Dinner was a delicious 3 course set menu and the continental breakfast was generously boosted with fruit, cheese, yoghurts and eggs. The rooms are freshly renovated, bright, modern and well equipped and the lounge and dining rooms are spacious and relaxing. Fabulous art on the walls and the bookshelves are stuffed with interesting books for mulling over before or after dinner. Could not recommend more highly.

Stay Away! Deceptive Three Stars, SubStandard, Expensive Room and Micro-Aggressive Owners

I reserved and paid for a large double room with a double bed. Yet I was provided with an inferior, substandard room, was charged 82 Euros per night for a room that according to the French standard tariff worth no more than 42 Euros a night. Three stars were deceptive. Room was 9x13 feet, most of which taken by an improvised bathroom; saggy Lilliput twin beds; heavy polyester comforter unsuitable for August heat; no window screens and therefore plenty mosquito bites; insufficient electrical outlets and dangerous extension cord; sewage odor; insufficient light bulb light; no room service; super-slow wi-fi; stale food. I am disabled and travel with a licensed medical assistance dog. Hotel Les Rochers charged me 100 Euros for having my dog room with me, in violation of Europe’s Public Access Laws re assistance dogs (I didn't click on "pet" here since such dogs are not considered fun pets but work/service animals). The owners’ mode of communication was characterized by microaggression so I avoided them as much as I could. I am a woman of color and from my name one can gather that I'm Jewish.

Very enjoyable

We enjoyed our 3 day stay at the hotel. Mainly because the couple running it, John and Jane, made it fun.
The hotel seems a little run down when you arrive but in reality it isn’t. It is just a little homely.
We loved our room with the spectacular views over the surrounding countryside. We loved the garden with the huge acer. We enjoyed the simple meals we had. Dinner twice and breakfast each morning. The wine were both good choices by our hosts.
I would go back and I can’t pay a higher compliment that that.

Excellent place to discover

Perfect place to get away and enjoy silence and the culture.If you love books you will love it, the owners are collectors and know a lot about art and world. They are fantastic, one day, as I was stuck there for the whole day without a car with a baby, the owner cooked and served me a delicious meal, just for me. 5 stars!!!! We stayed there in July 2018.
