Anytime again
Very delicious sausage salad eaten today. Great beer selection also on craft beers. Friendly service.

Too bad, we had been looking forward to it.....
Nowhere else have we experienced such listless service as ours. No eye on the guests, to see if perhaps another order is pending. The food takes forever and then comes one after the other. Some are already finished, the others haven't received anything yet. The food tastes good, but it is very small and for these prices we would have expected a bit more on the plates. None of us will likely recommend it.

Food is good, service is mediocre.
We were three on a Sunday evening with a reservation for dinner. The entrance area inside looks inviting, the hotel reception is impressive.
The drinks were delivered in a reasonable time frame.
However, the food took about 40 minutes to arrive. The taste was good. The sauces were well balanced. The portions were small, but a normal eater will be satisfied with them. We ordered drinks again during the meal, which was already difficult because the server did not respond to looks or gestures and only came to the table after a while. After that, the drinks were completely forgotten. Only when we requested the bill did the server bring us the drinks and immediately after that the bill, because she noticed that it had already been entered.
As good as the food was, the service on that evening must really be criticized.

Too expensive for the old charm. But the quality of the food was good.
One point deduction for the prize. Sorry, but I have to. Not for the 80s charm, not for the leisureliness and also not for the hotel reception have to settle for the debit cards (not possible at the table). But that's BAD Rappenau! This is not Bad Vilbel, this is not Bad Gastein and this is certainly not Baden Baden! The hotel is certainly the best house in the square and that is not the problem even despite the aging equipment. One feels reminded of the Grand Budapest Hotel and its transience. Nevertheless: That's okay, I like the flair. I also like the 80s equipment, but to rest on it and attract the prices like that is too much. The Service was friendly, but you asked directly if you just wanted to drink as a spa guest or eat as a normal guest. The map is extensive. The Mood has stopped in time, but still high quality. Not shrewd. The toilets in the basement could be signposted. What was positive is that everything still comes in extra bowls, everything is served separately and not drowned in sauces. That's good. The salad may come partly from the glass. The sauce was good, the meat high quality. The croquettes were incomprehensible whether made or bought, they were prepared on a rack, not on the baking sheet. The Spaetzle looked ready. There is a very nice local beer selection, but unfortunately we could not use it. The sanitary spaces are spacious, a little older, like everything, but in shape and clean. I would come back but the prices are clearly too high for the unknown small spa town. I know more important destinations where the best house in the place (perhaps also because it has competition) has more reasonable prices. There is no complaining about the food but a certain slurring has taken hold and perhaps also a certain classiness towards the guest. We were only in the restaurant but if the same charm – which I don’t really mind – prevails in the hotel, then I see little future for this business model. Large menu, nice selection, also the beer menu is well laid out. But it's all on a big scale. And that is not appropriate for such a small spa town. Especially in comparison with other, far better known spas. The city is beautiful, the facilities in shape, but germ compared to renowned old-established spas. They are simple but also bigger and it has competition. I guess that's what's missing here. Too bad, I can only say: Get into gear and do something!

Happy to recommend
Clean, large hotel in the middle of the health clinic area. Very quiet!! In 2 minutes you are at the former Bugatti site.
Lots of places to eat nearby!
Bad Wimpfen is also just a stone's throw away.
Free parking and breakfast included!
