The hotel gets very hot in the summer
and there is neither air conditioning
nor a fan in the room.
We know the Vespasian Spa
from previous visits. This time, the water had a strange smell for us.
And some saunas were out of order.
In the barrel sauna, the door handle is almost falling off.
The floor in the outdoor area should have been mopped, in our opinion,
and there were too few sun umbrellas
for these hot temperatures.
During our entire stay, we also did not see any staff, for example, for a check-up.

At the breakfast buffet, there are among other things.
salmon and champagne.

Far from 4-star superior
For dessert, they finally reacted to the heat wave toward the end with ice cream.
In a container usually used to keep warm food warm (chafing dish), ice cream was now served, placed on top of ice packs. As usual, unloving and unprofessional.
Giant catering ice cream blocks of several liters in volume (three flavors) were placed side by side in the chafing dish, roughly broken up, and set before the guest to... (Sorry).
In a container now filled with very unaesthetic-looking water lay a spatula, with which one could scrape one's ice cream from the increasingly softening blocks. Accompanied by some moderately tasty mango compote. No toppings, no whipped cream.
Instead, warm beer with the meal. When I went to the bar with my draft, warm beer to ask if the tap system was broken, since I had received warm beer, the serious counter-question was whether I wanted ice cubes! No!!!
The beer that was freshly tapped afterward was cold!
So they had brought me a beer that had been sitting for a while.
This is just one of many other service episodes!
Breakfast: consistently decent to good, including (not correctly chilled) sparkling wine.
Staff: they are cutting costs here too, no fully paid professional staff.
But: Pensioners who have done a great job at up to 75 years of age.
In suitable weather, you can have breakfast and dinner outside by a pond. Nothing is being invested here either. The pond is full of disgusting algae, absolutely unkempt.
Swimming pool: very large, quite beautifully designed thermal pool.
The truly only highlight of the hotel, followed by breakfast.
Sauna area. Some 'mild' saunas. For the Finnish saunas, you have to go one floor up to the outdoor area.
There you will find a very nice Kelo sauna and a barrel sauna. Showers: None! For that, you have to go down a floor again. There is no professional hose shower.
Especially at an older age, it is important to begin cooling down at the areas furthest from the heart....
Here too, as in most parts of the hotel, attention to detail and professionalism are lacking.
In front of the Finnish saunas, there are lovelessly designed outdoor areas with a few loungers – in the blazing sun.
The fact that this area is also designated as a nude bathing area, considering the approximately twenty balconies facing it, proves once again to be the result of stupidity and incompetence.
For the so-called relaxation rooms, you have to leave the sauna area and seek out unattractive grottos, where you might find a total of 10 loungers.
In summary: The guests' money is being siphoned off, and staff and property maintenance are expected to incur as little expense as possible.
Oh, by the way: the underground garage smelled like a garbage dump.....

Dear for what it is!
The evening meal, however, is generally correct for an extra 4 stars, we would still expect a more careful presentation. The sauces are probably the greatest asset of this moment since they are creamy and creamy.
As a reminder, do not expect to eat light in Germany.
Especially avoid the bar, unless you have considerable patience because for two drinks without specific service, it takes at least 15 minutes without customers and provided that someone deigns to serve you. If by exoticism you want a cocktail, I advise you to order it and have a book or your cellphone well charged because it will take between 20-45 minutes always without customers to be served.
On Valentine’s Day Saturday, the staff certainly received clothing advice as we were greeted by a guy in cap training who seemed to be returning from sports rather than being likened to the butler. Fortunately it was welcoming because one could also have imagined a character less... or more... finally in the context of this hotel, it is certain that its dress code could only be noticed.
The SPA is not transcendent but ultimately goes with the rest. Dirty pool (lots of dirt in the bottom) and not very hot water.
