Absolutely recommended

Beautiful guesthouse with excellent service. The rooms are modern, very clean, and extremely cozy. The breakfast is fresh, plentiful, and of high quality. The location impresses with its tranquility and nature, and the well-maintained garden invites you to linger.
For me, a clear 5-star recommendation.
There is absolutely nothing that needed to be improved. Frank and Heidi - top hosts we would gladly return.

Eine wunderbar Platz.

The bedroom was so comfortable, with good space, and a beautiful view. Absolutely clean. With sauna und infrared. The owners are so gentle and provided us in everything we needed. A delicious and well served breakfast. We had a wonderful time there.

Fantastic Stay

This is a hidden gem in a beautiful part of Germany near the Czech border. We spent several days here exploring the beautiful region and we throughly enjoyed our stay here. We had a well appointed room with a balcony overlooking the mountains. The room was cozy and clean and very well maintained. Everyone was very accommodating and looked after our needs. Breakfast was excellent and there was a nice variety. We especially loved the outdoor garden area with a ping pong table and shuffle board. This was a nice way to unwind and finish off our day. Good beer selection available - if any doubt ask Frank he will be happy to assist.

Great service, all inclusive!!

Loved this place, the new owners are very friendly and service oriented! They have a great breakfast!! You will also get a card from them to enjoy many discounts for transportation and museums, we saved with it an average of 25 EUR per day per person!!

Still excellent

After our previous thoroughly enjoyable visit we were very much looking forward to our next three night stay at the Pension Elan. We were very warmly welcomed and John and Irina recognised us from our first stay.
The room was as expected, smallish but big enough for our needs and warmly decorated and clean. We immediately made use of the well stocked honesty bar downstairs and had a long chat with John in the garden over a beer.
As were were belatedly celebrating my birthday, my girlfriend had pre-arranged with John that on two of our evenings he'd cook suckling pig and black squid ink risotto for us (he'd foolishly mentioned this speciality on our first visit :-)). The food was AMAZING, especially the risotto which (and again thanks for going to all of the extra effort) had obviously taken ages to prepare. This he served with a perfectly cooked salmon steak which made me decide I actually do like salmon.
For activities we walked from the Pension to the top of the Grosser Arber via the Kleiner Arbersee - there's a great forest path which leads all the way round - highly recommended. Other than that we did some other hiking up the Grosser Falkenstein and wandered around the charming town where we found a festival going on hosted by the local fire service (with beer of course).
Overall a fantastic stay yet again, thanks to John and Irina for making my belated birthday celebration so enjoyable.
