No frills
This B&B is located in a residential area, right next to a train station, which makes the location excellent. Not unless you arrive with a car, which could cause you serious trouble finding a parking lot, especially in the evening. Road parking space is everywhere, but the demand is clearly higher than the supply.
The B&B consists of an apartment inside a residential building, ground floor. I have seen only three guest rooms. Cleanliness is excellent, breakfast consist of a simple buffet. Don't expect too much, but in relation to the price it is fully OK.
Room was very silent, because it is located towards the back yard. But even the front should be OK, since the road is a side road. But if you want to be sure of a silent room, ask for a room in the back.

Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Rude, racist staff who don't give a damn about their customers.
This is by far the worst hotel, pension or otherwise, I've ever stayed in. It's worse even then the many poor hostels I've stayed in. I've travelled a lot and I can categorically tell you, never ever stay here.
Our group of three stayed here for nearly a week. The morning of check-out I asked what time check-out was and was informed 11am. We went to get cash-out and returned to our room at 10:40am only to find a staff member had removed our things into the corridor without our consent. He gestured at his watch angrily and shouted at us for not checking out. I pointed out it was not yet 11am. He continued to berate us, telling us we were 'difficult.' I went to use our room's toilet and he refused to let me into the room, not even to check all our things were packed and STILL in spite of the fact it was not yet the check-out time of 11am. He eventually admitted he wanted us out because the next guests were arriving early.
By this point, the manager arrived and after a quick conversation in German where I mistakenly assumed the manager was telling off the other staff member for treating guests so shabbily, the manager came out to accuse us of breaking the shower in our room and demanded we pay him an additional night of accommodation. The shower was not broken. It was an obvious ploy to deflect from them stuffing up about check-out and manhandling our bags and property without our consent. Both the manager and staff member continued shouting at us, demanding money, following us out into the street. It was a 34 degrees day outside, I still needed a toilet and we had no idea of how to get to the airport so had to wander around the neighbourhood till we found free wifi to sort it out.
I have never been so outraged and disgusted by a hotel in my life.
Aside from this, the manager was a racist who was sad apartheid had ended and white people couldn't trample all over black Africans any more. The room we booked was hot, old and the shower was terrible. I wouldn't have bothered to mention these things, but you know, given everything else it's worth mentioning that this pension is no ritz.
Do not go here if it is the last hotel on earth. Fawlty Towers level of terrible.

A nice B&B, close to train station and busses to city centre
B&B Dorma is situated somewhat south of the city centre, it is close to a train station (but not so close that it was noisy), and it was easy to take the train or the busses into Tiergarten Zoo and from there several busses, trains and the metro were accessible. (Buy a “travel card” so you can use all public transportation in Berlin, the city is to huge to cover by foot.) The room was clean and it was refreshed every day, the bathroom was nice, but the wi-fi was only working 70-80% of the time (I had a small TV, where everything of course was dubbed into German). The room I got (no. 2 or 3, I believe) was a little bit too small, only one bed, really no chair to sit in, and my luggage I had to squeeze into a corner. The breakfast was very good. The owner (he ran it together with his brother in law) was a nice older man; he spoke English well, and I was also allowed to practice my German language skills with him. He knew much about the city, and gave me several useful advices about what to do and how to get around in Berlin.

City stay Forest View

Staff helped me to even find an ATM machine near by and showed around, WiFi - ok, Next to train station, nice bed, Cleanliness, Excellent greeny view from window (like a forest with lots of vegetation-ignore a few dustbins) and Value for money.

Congested room and bath, Tiny TV, check out at 11, no sound proof, only 3 basement rooms in an apartment.

нормально, не без недост атков
Местоположение, комнаты, мебель - хорошо. Что не так? Отель маленький, два управляющих мужчины далеко не всегда на месте. На второй день отключилась горячая вода. Никого не было. Пришли - появилась. На следующий день тоже. Оказалось, выключатель вылетал. Прежде чем починили - 3 утра без горячей воды. И завтраки как-то совсем неинтересные.
