Friendly and very helpful staff. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast quite good. Overall a very good hotel. I would recommend it for visitors to Göttingen. It is located within a short distance to the train station, and short walk to the centre of the town.

Lost Place Hotel in Göttingen

Unfortunately, we have not had a good experience regarding the hotel. It has the charm of the 80s. The "lounge area" shown on the website is the only modern thing in the hotel. The parking situation a single cadastral straw. You can only drive to the premises to load and unload or to use to charge the electric car.
But right here's the annoying thing. The e-charging station belongs to another operator around the charging power is minimal, so charging the car takes several hours, but you have to pay blocking fee despite charging process.... Plus the hotel parking fee of 17.- €. So when you get to this abandoned parking lot at 22:00, should you seriously get up after 4 hours (felt) and 25KW charged at 2 in the night, re-park the car to avoid the blocking fee ? Parking costs 17€ + fee blocker (note in the hotel parking lot) of just under 40.-€) ? There's something really wrong.
The hotel makes an absolutely lost-place impression at a price that is absolutely unjustifiable.

Being visiting Goettingen for 20’years, the location, if going on a morning train is excellent…literately 5 min (timed it). Also close to city centre, so for a visit with kids a good option for affordable 2 rooms. BUT, this is not 4 stars, not 3 stars, might pull a 2,5 star. So if they sold, given the reasonably good price, it as what they were, the rating would be higher….but 4 stars is just dishonest.

Reasonably priced hotel but heat didn’t work

I found the arrival at the hotel by car to be difficult. There was traffic gridlock in front of the hotel and I had difficulty figuring out where to park. For others you need to park at the parking garage for the train station across the way. Take the ticket to the hotel and they will add the 17 euro charge to your room and validate the parking. My room was nice and it looked pretty new but the heat wouldn’t work. I turned up both radiators but the room did not warm up.
Breakfast was very nice.
Check-in and checkout process was tedious. The first person to help me at check in was new and didn’t know how to collect payment. The supervisor was called and sorted it out. But there was a line of several people both at check in and checkout. I could hear people in the back of the office but it took a while for someone to come out to help. Not typical of Marriott properties.
