You can take a walk and explore the neighbourhood area of the hotel. Places nearby: Zeche Carl, Red Dot Design Museum and Ruhr Museum..Taste the local cuisine and have a rest in the restaurant. There are other services available for the guests of the hotel. For example, a laundry.

Great service and comfortable rooms

The service here was exceptional! I have absolutely nothing to complain about. The rooms were also very clean and comfortable. The only complaint here is that you can hear the freeway from all rooms. Other than that, it is across the street from a chemical plant. If you have work there, it is in walking distance. On the other side of the hotel, there is a park like setting with lots of green. During the day, parking can be a bit of a problem, but after 5pm, it is not. I enjoyed my stay here and will stay again.

Forgettable - better cheaper options available

This hotel is unmanned from 10pm until 6am. You are on your own. Arrive late and you have to check in via an ATM like device, poorly lit, a flickering screen and outside in all weathers. Cheap laminate flooring adorns the accommodation block. It is noisy and cold. The rooms are pokey. Width is bed length +90 cms. To gain internet access you have to allow them to scan your passport and retain a copy. What planet are they on. To make matters worse it is expensive for such a poor standard of service and accommodation. I should know. I stay in hotels every week.

Good place where to stay

Good quality room and beds, welcoming people handling all requests, rich breakfast.
Good place also to organize conferences or trainings.
Area is very industrial and this is much more a business place.

Sleep and leave...

This hotel is also a conference center and the meeting rooms, breakfast and restaurant (also separate rooms are offered) are actually ok. It is mostly used by visitors of the adjacent Marl industry park. But this is about it, Marl is a sorry state town of past perhaps better times.
Rooms are very small and the carpets also in the passage ways need some urgent replacement. Parking just outside is good but in case a functions you have to go opposite the road, where you find a bigger parking. Wifi is free and also ok.
Since the hotel is also close to a freeway, you will here the cars rushing past also at night. Anyway, this is even good as it is fast to get away after a night here.

Great location to work at Chemical Park

I stay here regularly due to work commitments at the Chemical Park in Marl. There is not much around except a natural swimming pool which is great in summer. Lots of parking and also a bus stop which takes you to the nearest city of Recklinghausen. I like it because it is just a few minutes walk to the chemical site. Rooms are pleasant enough with a big comfortable bed. Food is amazing and the breakfast buffet offers a huge variety. Reception and restaurant staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They know me and my preferences by now and there normally is cake when I come back from my work tasks. It would be great to have a pool or a gym or a sauna to give individuals like me something to do after working hours.
