Very charming!

Unfortunately, for personal reasons, we could not use our stay as desired. From the hotel's side, understanding was shown and acted very accommodating!
From therefore- recommended!

The hotel is a bit dated.

Stayed here during the bike trip on the Ruhr Valley Cycle Path. It is built on a slope and requires a few stairs just to reach the reception. There was space for the bikes in a large garage. Our requests were kindly fulfilled: single beds and a shower instead of a bathtub. The house itself has aged. Carpeted floors, no ground-level showers. Sauna in the basement is fine, indoor pool is dark and not used. Dinner at the restaurant was decent, breakfast was fine. Our expectation of having dinner on the terrace with a view over the lake was not met; the lake is a 5-minute walk away. Overall, a bit too expensive.

Great!

Great, definitely come back here again! Breakfast and dinner very good.
Nice rooms and clean, we stayed in the building next door.
Friendly staff, friendly staff.
Wonderful hiking in the area, and a trip to Winterberg.
We enjoyed it!

Large and dominant on the hillside

But once inside the pleasant reception you will discover a most delightful place to stay, or to enjoy a beer on the terrace. The rooms can be accessed by lift or stairs, a comfy bed and a modern en-suite to be found in the adequately furnished room. My room was to the rear with not much of a view but nonetheless clean and fresh.
Breakfast is fresh and varied, with a good choice of continental, cereal or great scrambled egg and fresh and varied crusty rolls. The evening menu is available to select from a choice of three main meals.
Our evening meal was served in a room to take all 16 of us by very pleasant staff who were also very efficient and helpful. The food was plentiful and fresh and most enjoyable.
Afterwards we sat out on the terrace in the warm evening air and enjoyed being well looked after by the cheery attentive staff. The view from the terrace is pleasing as the hotel is set back off the road amongst the trees which gives off a sense of peace and quietness. Yet is only a stroll back downhill to the centre of town.
A most delightful place to stay.

In the heart of trees

Hotel is located in the heart of trees. Service is great as well as the service. I had a problem with WLAN but it was solved quite fast. Wide and comfortable rooms with a big restaurant. The room I stayed had also a small balcony and I recommend that you get a room with a balcony. Breakfast is also very nice in the first floor. I recommend this hotel with clean rooms, good service, wide parking area and reasonable prices.
