Contactless check-in and out. You get a code to enter your room. Room is exceptional, large, clean and bed really comfortable. The kitchen has all you need for a short hotel stay and it's close to the national park. Parking is very limited though so arrive early!

Very nice hotel in a great quiet location

The Hotel Waldberg is wonderful. I have been there for several months professionally every week a few nights and especially appreciate the beautiful, absolutely quiet location. The rooms are very cozy and all staff are very friendly. A forest is just around the corner. A really nice hotel with very good value for money.

Never again – psychologically stressful and unacceptable

We spent one night at the Hotel Waldberg and unfortunately experienced the absolute state of emergency there. Twice – at 3:30 a.m. and again at 5:42 a.m. – we were pulled out of sleep by the shrill fire alarm. No cause was apparent, no one was visible in the hallway. The hotel's designated emergency numbers remained unreachable despite repeated calls. In this potentially dangerous situation, we were completely on our own – no contact person, no information, no help.
When we wanted to leave early after that grueling night, our car was parked by another vehicle – as it later turned out, it was the hotel operator’s vehicle. Again, all attempts to contact the hotel staff were unsuccessful. It was only after police involvement that the blocking vehicle disappeared – although the operator had previously indicated to the police that he was allegedly in Aachen and did not have a second key.
Shortly after our departure, we encountered the operator's vehicle again in a nearby side street. It turned at some distance, then came towards us and accelerated significantly. At the height of a bottleneck, we felt compelled to swerve onto the sidewalk to avoid a possible collision. At that moment we had the impression that the vehicle was heading towards us. The behavior was absolutely incomprehensible and scary for us.
In response to our subsequent complaint, the operator did not respond with an apology, but with blame. We were supposed to have triggered the fire alarm ourselves. We have also been informed that legal action will be considered if we raise the issue publicly or with authorities.
Conclusion: Despite a quiet location and a clean, simple room, this stay was psychologically stressful for us and overall unreasonable. We can not recommend this place to anyone.
