Bachofer is a cute, friendly little hotel!
Bachofer is a really cute little hotel in Waiblingen, connected to an equally nice restaurant. My husband and I had the good fortune to stay there for four nights. We really enjoyed our stay, as well as the excellent Asian fusion restaurant.
Our room was mostly comfortable, clean, and very convenient. The staff was friendly, and we especially appreciated the Stubli for its free snacks and honesty bar for beer and wine. We also enjoyed all three of the three cafes where breakfast is served, if one doesn't want cereal from the Stubli. The bed was comfortable, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches like daily gummi bears and ear plugs (which we didn't need to use). Parking is also convenient at the local garage.
I have three minor complaints about Bachofer that I think can be easily fixed. First, on a couple of days, the housekeeping staff didn't leave an extra roll of toilet paper. We only had what was on the spool. I get a little paranoid about having enough toilet paper, so this was something I noticed. My husband ended up buying some one morning. I think the housekeepers noticed, because they left a lot of toilet paper on our last day!
Second, neither my husband nor I could never get the shower very hot. That was disappointing, because the shower was a big rainfall type that looked inviting, but even when I turned the water on and let it run with the tap turned all the way to what should have been the hottest level, it never got beyond just basically warm.
And finally, one of the outlets near the desk didn't seem to work properly. I ended up using a different outlet for plugging in my computer.
We probably should have said something, and I'm sorry we didn't. None of these issues were really serious, but they did stop me from leaving five stars. I would happily visit the Bachofer again, though, and I would absolutely recommend it to other travelers who are lucky enough to visit charming Waiblingen. And I would absolutely recommend the restaurant, too!

Hotel is in old city center, surrounded by shops and markets and public buildings.
Its modern equipped, inside some old parts of building can be seen, which were preserved. In the hotel is a restaurant, which I had no time to visit. Visitors have access to kitchenette , where snacks and fruits are free available, alcoholic drinks for refund.
My room was nice and cozy, but with small window for air exchange. The room was sound proof, could barely hear the near bell clock in tower. The mattress was a bit too soft for me.
Staff I met only upon check-in and when passing by the restaurant. Always smiling and happy to help. No issue with them. Reception is not 24/7 however.

Very comfortable hotel with thoughtful touches. Great restaurant, and right in the middle of town.

Friendly and accommodating
We had dinner reservations and wanted to enjoy their wines and not have to drive home. Despite the fact that they only had a single room available with a single bed, they provided a second roll-away bed so we could spend the nigh. Very friendly staff. Our stay was excellent as was the dinner in the restaurant.

Very nice little hotel in the old town of Waiblingen
Small and family hotel located in the old town of Waiblingen directly on the market square. Very stylish, how the charm of one of Waiblingen's oldest houses (half-timbering with partly exposed beams) has been combined with state-of-the-art equipment. The room was very cozy and comfortable - quite different from the soulless always the same rooms at the larger hotel chains. For breakfast there is a voucher that can be used in three cafes in the vicinity. Two of them I used - both cafes are highly recommended. If you don't have time in the morning, you can fend for yourself in the "Stübli" with a small breakfast. The restaurant Bachofer still awaits my visit - since I was in Waiblingen on business, I did not have the opportunity to test it. The menu looks very welcoming and I have every intention of coming back as a private person to enjoy the hotel and restaurant Bachofer as well as the beautiful old town of Waiblingen. I look forward to my next stay at this beautiful hotel.
