Not what is promised!
The owners are a bit older but super nice. There are no signs, so go by the house number (very difficult to see from the street) and the picture of the building.
First of all, I would like to mention the POSITIVE aspects:
+ Location is really very quiet
+ The house is spacious with 4 bedrooms for up to 11 people
+ Free parking right outside the door
+ Children's vehicles available
+ Bread roll service
+ Kitchen seems to be newer and is fully equipped (coffee machine, dishes,
cutlery, oven, stove, dishwasher, kettle (no microwave)
+ Bed linen and towels available free of charge
+ Washing machine available (2€ per wash)
+ Small playground for younger children available (no trampoline)
NEGATIVE things were noticed:
- The house and furniture are a bit old and definitely
do not look like the pictures.
- Of the advertised animals (dog, cat, goats, sheep, mini pigs,
small animals, cows) there were 2 shy goats on site, some cows in the stable,
a rabbit that belongs to the owner's grandson and a shy cat that we
saw once have.
- It is not a participatory farm
- Mosquito problem: There are remains of dead mosquitoes stuck to almost all the walls
and there were dead flies on many of the window sills.
- The house has an extension with a small holiday apartment, which is connected to the large holiday apartment on the ground
and first floor by a locked room door.
What led me to this review, however, were the following 3 REALLY BIG NEGATIVE POINTS:
- MOLD: In the two lower bedrooms there are cracks and
mold on the ceiling, which made us not use them and sleep in the living room. (The beds on the upper floor could be used) There was a typical smell of mold (not a musty old smell) and water damage to the roof was confirmed by the landlord.,
- WIND TURBINES: The immediate area is built with wind turbines (it's not the owners' fault, but a notice would have been nice, as you can hear the noise)
- When we arrived, we were told that one bedroom had been locked because the other beds in the 3 remaining bedrooms would be enough. You don't get what you paid for.
Overall, I do NOT recommend this accommodation because of the mold alone!
