Great Windows Resorts
Set in Coonoor, 18 km from Ooty Lake, Great Windows Resorts features views of the mountain. Among the facilities of this property are a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk and room service, along with free WiFi. Worst hotel in coonoor
On the Day of checkin when we were on the trip i though to reconfirm and inform them to keep the room ready and when i called them, they told me that we couldn't Check in Because there is a leakage in the room and room is flooded with the water. Then he suggested me to book any hotel in Ooty or Coonoor, Payment is on them for that night. Then we searched and booked a hotel. Before informing him he called and told me that he has arranged our stay in another hotel. Now as per his suggestion we already made a booking and now god knows why he booked another hotel for us and he paid or not ,,, he refused to pay us for that night...
That is pretty unprofessional to inform us on the checkin day.
and the services are pathetic.
and he made us suffered more loss.

Not a Resort - wish they did better
To start with it wasnt what I expected- it did not in the first look meet any standard i had experienced in my stay at the hotel next door -Sunvalley -
That being said the Pros for the place are
- unbelievable view: the tea estate view is stunning and absolutely divine
- The staff Peter, Emmanuel and the 2 akkas (kitchen queens) are extremely polite, genuine and soft spoken. They were always ready to help sort any issue and make the stay as comfortable as possible
Cons- and there are many -
- cleanliness is an issue - major one - floors are a bit sticky; carpet not cleaned well, dinner table would on occasions not be cleared (we left post breakfast n when we came bc at night plates were still there - even tough rest of the room seemed to had been cleaned)
- Rooms need an instant upgrade - maybe a round table of 4 instead of bulky dinner tables - a side seating near the window area to mk it into a balcony seating rather than as it currently is - unusable
- The windows truly are great as is the view but as no seating one is forced to stand
- The curtains really need a change - they are flimsy and tacky - a set of good curtains is one thing the owner must incest in.
- Breakfast is good and clean and homely - maybe an additional bread/ butter and cornflake option would mak it wholesome
- The bathrooms do not hv any toiletries kept - one needs to ask for the basics which they did provide quickly
- The dustbins were not cleaned for days it seemed - so back to hygiene n cleanliness being an issue - although they were cleaned when we asked
- Same with mirrors and corners
Overall - if you book the place do so knowing it is a basic home converted into a commercial setup -
It hs the potential, location n the polite staff to mk it one of the best - however they really need to work on the cleanliness and upkeep as well as a better design usage of rooms.
Would not recommend to anyone as of now

Not hygienic even for a person who can adjust 2 of our family members ended up with UTI.

Good stay if you want have a walk in tea field. Great views from the room. Calm.

Not so good experience
The road to reach there in car is terrible.
When we stayed there they did not have wifi inside rooms. Plus they had mentioned few amenities on makemytrip which was not at all there. There was a badminton court nearby which was not owned by this homestay. The owner told us he can arrange indoor games but sadly all that did not happen.
The cooks did their best to provide good food. However we were not happy with the overall stay.
The photos given by the management misleading and the stay is definitely not worth the cost. These rooms should maximum cost 500/- Rs per night.
I would totally not recommend this place to a family atleast. There is nothing to do around or inside the homestay apart from the tea estate. How much time can you spend in just a tea estate??
