Indelible in my mind forever !
Service excellent and typical local food so good I wish I could visit more often.
The restaurant was fully booked every night with mostly local patrons (that tells me something).
My two night stay at Scacciapensieri will remain indelible in my mind forever .

Beautiful place, but bad experience
My daughter had booked a 40th birthday party with about thirty friends and relatives, she had booked a €30 menu with 3 finger food and a first course. The finger food was brought but in insufficient quantity (less than one piece each) and still less than what was agreed and paid for.
Then came the first one: 10 small gnocchi each on a sad bottom of tomato sauce, with 10 small gnocchi on top, this can not be called a first but a taste!
Caught up in desperation my daughter had to order a platter of cold cuts and cheeses for each table of 6 people, also this really scarce, we made the children eat almost everything who were desperate for hunger!
Another moment of even greater disappointment, the cake. There was no writing of greetings or 40th or happy birthday!!!
An evening that really shamed my daughter with her guests.
The icing on the cake, the air conditioner of ours (we stayed to sleep because we are from Padua) did not work (despite the attempts of the staff to make it start) and the only way to sleep since the room (number 4) was really hot was to leave the windows wide open.
Bad experience that I do not recommend to anyone.

Relaxing place to stay, but unstaffed at night.
Very convenient for Cividale and Udine by car.
The restaurant is only open certain evenings and on arrival on a Monday we found the whole place deserted.
We could not get in the building and had no info about this, despite an email exchange about eating arrangements earlier in the day.
Fortunately I had just enough battery left on my phone to ring and get instructions, but it involved waiting for a call back. Somewhat nail-biting at 5 p.m. in rural Italy. There were no staff at night when the restaurant was closed.

Great view, and delicious!!!
If you sit outside the view is fantastic and is really quiet. As soon as we sat we were treated like if we have been regulars for years.
Food is locally produce, seasonal and home cooked. DELICIOUS. And not just pasta….
Friendly staff, amazing surroundings, and great food.
Forgot to mention the Wine …. Also local and great. You even can see the vineyards where is produce on your way there.
Totally recommendable.
