A luxurious B and B in the heart of Ostuni!
What can I possibly say to capture how truly perfect this luxury B&B is? From the warm, welcoming staff (special shout-out to Maris, who went above and beyond for us and made us feel like family) to the stunning property itself, every detail is flawless.
Its location is unbeatable—you can wander into the heart of Ostuni without ever touching your car, then return to spend lazy afternoons by the glorious pool, soaking in the golden Apulian sun.
The exquisite artwork lining the walls and the heirloom furniture throughout give this “palace” an undeniable air of opulence, yet it remains wonderfully comfortable and inviting.
We will absolutely be back. Grazie infinite!

Beautiful property. Unlikely welcome.
My family and I stayed one night at this property.
Positive notes: the pool, the tastefully furnished rooms, the location at the entrance to the center of the town of Ostuni, the Filipino maid, very kind, helpful, and smiling.
Negative notes: air conditioning without a remote control, lack of a minibar in the rooms, the presence in the room of only two small bottles of room-temperature water, without a coffee or tea pod machine. Considering the rather high cost... these shortcomings are not acceptable.
Another drawback: the welcome from the owner, almost shocked to see that along with my husband and me there were two children aged 9 and 13! She welcomed us by saying that children are never seen at this property, that we needed to be careful with various pieces of furniture, that the kids had to be in the pool exclusively with their parents present... and yet at the time of booking, the lady knew there would be children. The owner then, with whom we had agreed for months on a late check-out (which means leaving the ROOM after the standard scheduled check-out time), denied it (despite everything having been agreed upon in writing via email), allowing only the use of the pool. The final touch: at the time of payment, delegated to the courteous Filipino woman, she even made us pay for the two (warm) bottles of water placed in the room upon arrival! It is absurd to get lost over so little. Paying a full 384 euros for one night for 4 people...

Pleasant stay
Considering there is no communal space for bar etc feel that there should be tea /coffee making facilities in the rooms .
Breakfast is served by the most lovely lady Maris who is very attentive and but quite adequate and very fresh . It is immaculately clean throughout

Good but needs improvement
I was expecting something special at Casa d'autore given the beautiful pictures, the very good reviews and upper price range. I was not gravely disappointed, but there is definitely room for improvement at an establishment of this high calibre.
The guest house is very close to the lovely main square and other attractions of the walkable old town, and free and unrestricted street parking was easily found - in mid-June anyway. Lovely big bedroom in beautifully restored old palazzo, big bathroom, all in restful tones of white and beige, matching the old stone. Good linen. However, no coffee or tea making facilities in room, nor anywhere else in the establishment, as my diligent search, in desperation for a cup of tea, proved. At €220 per night, this is not acceptable.
Lovely pool and inner courtyard. It has been paved since the pictures were published here, showing grass and flowers, which is a pity. It looks more like a small and quite stark piazza now, with one or two trees and shrubs, a few struggling geraniums and a magnificent old olive tree.
The house is very beautifully if minimally decorated with some lovely antiques and some quite peculiar modern pieces which, in my opinion, rather jar on the eye. I especially loathed those brassy metallic side tables/pillars in the dining room. To what end are they there?
The place is run by the sweet Maris. She is very kind but merely a servant fee'd and can't really do anything to mitigate the impersonal flavour of the place as a whole.
The breakfast, despite a delicious omlett prepared specially by Maris, was entirely average. Peculiar absence of rolls and decent bread (except for several types of croissants and toasting bread.)
My key to the room was impossible to operate and i hadn't time to do a PhD in Italian security arrangements. It caused me some inconvenience and delay.
All in all, then, a competent guest house, but very much in need of improvement in certain basic respects. See my 5* review of a similar place in Matino for how things should work at the Casa d'autore.

Like at home
We stayed with friends in this lovely B&B a stone's throw from the center of Ostuni. A charming structure with attention to detail where ancient and modern blend with great elegance. Spacious and clean rooms with a great breakfast with fresh homemade products. The reception and management were great and you feel at home.
