This is an older property and maintained well. The staff were friendly and helpful even with language barriers. The food was delicious! The transportation and onsen were all good at both locations. My only complaints are the bathroom toilet area smelled and were bit pretty badly by mosquitoes at night. Otherwise, it was nice for a 2 day stay.

A Wondeful Time by the Seaside

Manseiro was my final lodging after a 5-day hike on the Kumano Kodo Trail. Located on the bay of Kii-Katsuura, it was a wonderful place to transition back to a more relaxed vacation. With excellent service, the hotel is very well maintained, offering on-site restaurants with excellent food, an onsen, or a shower in the room if you prefer.
The location allows you to appreciate a sunset and sunrise over the bay, while also being an easy walking distance from both a Tuna Auction, Bus Stops, and the local JR Station.

We were warmly welcomed to Manseirou after 4 days of hiking the Kumano Kodō. The hotel was clean and peaceful and the onsen was perfect for soaking away the soreness from the hike. We had an excellent breakfast at the hotel and a nice view of the harbor.

Exceptionally kind and helpful staff. The set breakfast was a standout—grilled fish with a beautiful spread of side dishes. Clean and relaxing onsen with both indoor and outdoor options. Room was comfortable and had a lovely view of the bay. Bonus: separate toilet and bath/shower setup, which was convenient.

Great japanese style inn with classic breakfast and plenty of nearby tuna in this tuna fishing town. Excellent!
