Very peaceful ,,Excellent value for money
rooms are clean with a/c ,,the white sandy beach is just 5 minutes walking .
staff are friendly execllent service,,local transport by tuk tuk excellent and cheap..the chef prepares execllent dishes,,other resturants closeby if one wishes to try,

Bag of surprises
Where to start! First of all, the photo of the front of Gali Inn is/was a mistake. Totally inaccurate. I wish I had taken a photo to show the difference. It is a photo of a very smart place a couple of miles down the road which has a range of 2 or 3 bedroom properties - apartments and villas, some of which can be rented. They are mostly privately owned. Galu Inn is a very different place. The staff are very pleasant and helpful and anxious to please and were happy to send someone who stopped the shower tap from constantly running and wasting water plus he swapped the bedside light with next door as the switch had bare and hanging live wires. When checking in we discovered that we were the only guests hence the restaurant was closed although we were served a breakfast in the morning, the bar was also closed plus the swimming pool was completely unusable as it was dark green but we were told the pool man was coming tomorrow. He never came at all! However, after finding alternative pools and food opportunities elsewhere, we returned to our room in the evening and climbed into bed. Let me reassure you that the rooms were very clean, but our bedsheets were torn and had several holes in them! The very helpful receptionist changed them for us next morning as soon as we pointed this out!
So this place is a mixed bag and if you go, you take your chance. You have been warned.

Needs a facelift
The staff here are great and the cook makes a good breakfast. However, they should tell you what he's cooking, or give you a choice. They would just present you with whatever he had made. I was on the first floor which had a nice seating area on the verandah. The rooms are perfectly fine with AC and overhead fan. A nice wardrobe, desk and a little seating area. I had issues with the shower. They should remove the bath tubs as it really isn't safe to have to climb into a tub to have a shower. The shower head needed cleaning or replacing as only about 6 of the jets worked making for a very miserable shower. I stayed 6 nights and only on my last day was the pool clean enough to swim in. All the other days, they promised it would be cleaned. In the end, I didn't use it. Very disappointing.

Clean, simple and what you pay for.
Galu Inn gives you what you what you would expect for the money. Located on the second row at the end of Diani beach as Galu starts it is a good location with shops and bars just a tuk tuk journey away, however if you want to be in the heart of things or walk everywhere this is maybe a little far. We visited in low season and were the only guests, staff were nice- smiling and dealt with requests swiftly and politely, we initially had issues with our overhead fan so they moved us without fuss. The rooms were clean and simple. Ample parking and nice gardens. The gym is simply kitted out and clean. Breakfast was simple however no choice, we were just presented with a plate of bread, pancakes, potatoes and bananas, we dinner one night, we were told the chef was not in that day, we understand as the only guests it is not productive to have staff hang around for our whim, however it may be useful to have a notice advising this.
This property has huge potential sadly the exterior is flaking extensively and really could do with some maintenance and lick of paint, the pool area, whilst it was clean the wear and tear is evident. Given the season and need to keep costs down I can forgive Galu Inn for the lack of maintenance however would love to see improvements, even simple cost effective measures such as notices. All in all Galu inn is exactly what you pay for and in an area where accommodation for a long weekend can be expensive this is a good , clean and friendly option.

Value for money
This place was recommended to us by the dive centre we were using. Basic but cheap. Air conditioning and fans in rooms. Breakfast included in price. Vet shirt walk to experience other restaurants and beach. Each room has safe to store valuables. Cleaned daily. No lift so need to walk up stairs but they will take luggage for you. Fully equipped gym there plus pool. Not expensive spa place but we weren’t looking for that. Only downside is the way we saw the owners (I think Indian) treat the staff. Pretty appalling. I wouldn’t want to work for them and wouldn’t stay there again simply because owners are making a lot of money but abusing delightful staff.
