The allure of a Grand Hotel

We returned to Hotel Meyer for a delightful weekend and were impressed by its Grand Hotel charm. The modernized facilities beautifully balance historic allure with contemporary comfort. The staff were friendly, the property was spotlessly clean, the gardens well-maintained, and the pool impeccable.

Cycling holiday

We chose hotel Meyer for its location for our 4 day cycling holiday. Friendly staff and smooth reception. Spacious room with shutter, minus at these very hot temperatures is that there is only a fan and no air conditioning in the room. We took the half board, the portions were ok, but no too modern dishes. We could also use the indoor pool. Sauna for a fee. We could put our bikes in the bicycle shed. Also possible to charge electric car.

Great hotel strategically located on the Müllerthaltrail. Excellent cuisine.

We stayed as a couple 4 nights in half board during our walking holiday. Excellent location on the Müllerthaltrail (route 3), bus stop in front of hotel (free public transport in GHLux: to starting point and walking back to hotel).
Excellent cuisine, also price/quality: soup, starter, salad bar, main course (choice of fish or meat), dessert. Large portions, very tasty. Half board (so 5 courses) is recommended !
Nice and clean pool. Clean and spacious room, daily maintenance. Good bed (little hard). Excellent towel service (incl. washcloths;-). Bathrobes included. Very friendly waiters. Lift available.
Room was on Third party floor and was (too) hot in July (under roof): fan present, no air conditioning. Dated classic decor of hotel (also dining room not so cozy). Extensive and tasty breakfast (even glass of Bernard Massard, etc....). Coffee could be better (solvent ? not freshly ground). Beautiful garden for hotel suitable for aperotime.

Highly recommended.

On arrival you can park in a spacious parking lot next to the hotel. The check-in was smooth and friendly. We got the necessary explanation about all the facilities of the hotel. Our room was a very spacious corner room with a well appointed bathroom and a separate toilet. More than enough space to hang or lay our clothes. Shutters made it dark during the nights. There is no air conditioning but there was a big fan in case it got too hot. There is a small fridge to keep our drinks cold. You can't make coffee or tea in the room but we never use it anyway; I prefer to drink a coffee in the bar. Much cozier. The service in the bar, which by the way serves afternoon al s bistro, was smooth and very friendly. You can also have a glass on the terrace or in the pleasant garden under a parasol. There is absolutely nothing to complain about the restaurant and the meals. We had chosen Half Pension with choice for the main course but if you don't like something you can just pass it on before 10 am and it will be adjusted. Great! We also used the swimming pool and sauna. Delicious!
Moreover, it is an ideal base for many walks.
We will definitely go back here.

Average and outdated, absolutely not dog friendly

This is an average hotel, suitable for a short stay. The place is clean and the breakfast is good. BUT !!!! And its a big BUT, the place is dog friendly, but you cant leave your dog alone in the room meanwhile there is no designated spot in the breakfast/dining area to eat with then. The place was almost empty during our stay and we need ro eat separately. Second this is, that breakfast is from 7.30, if you wake up earlier they refuse to give you a coffee or tea only if you pay for it, which is also a big scam. Our room was lack of hot water, and they told us there is nothing they can do, shower quickly. Last but not least the beds are from the late 90's and they are very bad and ubconfortable.
