Amena Tulum

It is a very nice hotel; you can arrive walking from the center or the ADO station, or better yet, if you rent a car, everything is very close. It has a stove and a refrigerator, you do the cleaning yourself (I don't know if you can request it for an extra charge), it is a very quiet environment and it is worth renting the room with a pool, I will definitely return.

Great pricing for the unit
Incredible size
Perfect for what we were looking for.
Only con
We stayed 2 weeks and there is no maid service. So had to make sure to keep unit tidy ourselves. We made it work, but having someone pop in after first week to just freshen up the place would have been great.

The water went out for two days. The host is unreachable. I called their phone, texted them, messaged them via Expedia, and Expedia contacted them several times over in several days. Not once could the owner be bothered to reply even once.
There is construction above the bedroom that starts at 8am and continues all day. Are you on vacation? Do you plan to sleep in? Too bad because there is hammering and power tools all day. The floors are very thin and the sound of a nail falling on the floor is loud. The sound of tools are amplified like a drum and physically painful.
I was sent a message the day before my flight demanding a cash payment at the property as a deposit. This is not mentioned in the listing. Luckily there is no one actually at the property to receive this payment. If someone is foolish enough to pay this payment they won’t get it back because there is also no one to return a cash payment.
This property could be so much better but the host isn’t even trying.

The picture on the site didn’t represent the place.
Smelled of mildew
Had to check out and find another space to stay do to allergies flaring from the smell of the place
