Fabulous cocktails, food and amazing friends! Warm and friendly in Guben
I visited last week.
The fabulous Christiana, manager, could not have done more for me, even cooking an exquisite special meal for me. Everything homemade by her and super tasty. I was privileged to meet her husband who was helping behind the bar, such an kind, talented man. I was also fortunate to have met their son Erik who spoke perfect English and was super friendly and so intelligent. All three went out of their way to make me feel so welcome. I can't thank them enough! The made my time in Guben special.
If in Guben this is the only place to visit for good food, good drinks and more importantly good people.

Good hotel
Guben has several guest houses but this is the only hotel, thus the slightly steep price.
Rooms are a good size. Bathroom with large walk in shower, complementary toiletries and soap dispensers.
Breakfast (inc in the price) was average with a reasonable selection of meat, eggs and cheese.
We were on a bike tour the hotel has an open shed (no cost) at the back of the hotel. Entrance to the back is through a locked key card controlled gate.
Free WiFi ok on the first floor.
Within walking distance of the Polish border. Can recommend the restaurant on the Polish side, the Tercet. It is part of the original church/priory. 2 main courses , 4 large beers and 2 deserts 29 euros (can pay in euros though in Poland).

Great treasure on the border!
The only room on the fourth floor has a massive balcony with a rock garden and mood lights.
Definitely recommend.
Complimentary breakfast was a treat.
