Clean, confortable, great staff and absolutely wonderful SPA
The hotel is well maintained, good staff, clean and cozy, good breakfast and the SPA is absolutely wonderful - congratulations to the SPA staff, very good professionals and great top of the line products. Will get back here anytime for a truly relaxing vacation.

An ageing treasure
I have known the Hotel "Cocor" for over 15 years from my motorcycle trips to Romania and so yesterday I stopped in here with my wife (a Romanian married for 40 years). The building has changed in that when you stand in front of it, a new complex has been built on the right. This is where the spa area is located. The reception was very friendly, as usual, and we were given a room without having to book in advance, even though it was a weekend. It was in the annex to the left of the building on the 2nd floor, directly above the room I had moved into back then. Just as I did back then, I admired the beautiful and unusual lamps in the entrance area and at the reception. We were able to move into our room straight away, even though it was only 9 a.m. There was a great breakfast buffet straight away. It would be too much to list everything here. Back in the room, rested and relaxed, we found the first unpleasant things that we would not have wanted to find in a 4-star hotel and in this price range. Dirty fittings and shower doors, limescale residue on the shower partition, dirty mirror. I suspect that there are not enough service staff available or that they are not properly planned. (I myself ran the "Weißes Rößl" restaurant in Stolberg for 40 years, the last 10 years). The stainless steel doors were streaky and looked dirty because they didn't use a special stainless steel cleaner like in a commercial kitchen. If you look around with a watchful eye you will find a few small things that you wouldn't expect to find in a house like this. All in all you can say that the house is particularly recommended for children. (Clear pool) short walk to the beach, very friendly and helpful staff make up for a lot. And if you don't have to count your Euros, you can spend a relaxing holiday in this house.

Not a 4 star hotel
1. The room is small but ok.
2. The bathroom need to be renovated.
3. The service in the restaurant was good, all the employees were following the COVID rules.
4. The service at the bar almost inexistent. You could stay at the table on the terrace for some time and nobody came to ask if you want something to drink (probably the bar was for decoration). The bartender and the waitress were sitting on the hotel's couch , being busy more with their phones than with their customers. Also they were not following the COVID-19 rules .
5. The swimming pool was not clean.
6. The cleaning ladies did not wear a mask and beside changing the towels and empty the garbage bin, nothing else was done (no vacuuming in the room or cleaning the sink in the bathroom).
7. The check-in was fast but the staff also didn't respect the COVID-19 rules.

Definitely not a 4 star hotel!
I decided to spend the weekend at the seaside and I took a accommodation for one night so I preferred a 4* hotel. The building is quite old and the first room we stayed had a big stain on one armchair and water in the shower was cold and barely running. i went to reception to ask for another room and they first tried to convince me to wait and have the water problem fixed. As this wasn't something I could accept, they finally gave me a new room but still not a 4 star room
Meals were poor (both breakfast and dinner), it was a buffet with just a few options and everybody could touch anything.
Pool area was a bit noisy so unless you come with kids playing there too, is not a relaxing place

Needs improvement but still....
For start, it's true that it's not a 4* hotel. Yes, it has the facilities ( outdoor pool, spa, air cond, indoor pool for extra charge ) but it appears to be an old hotel with some improvements made here and there over the years. Unfortunately, it needs more. Particularly the bathroom which is old and the showers. A little bit of modern touch should be given to this hotel. The strong points are definitely the food, a variety of choices, tasty, fresh and all you can eat. Cleaning done every day, the towels were clean but the toiletries cheap even though provided daily ( not something you would expect at 4*). The beach is extremely close, 5 min top, the pool is very clean, towels provided at request to stay on while sunbathing. Very quiet, 2 parking lots. Staff ok, nothing to complain about. All in all, modernization needed asap and it would probably become one of the top hotels
