Holiday from hell
AVOID!! So disappointing. Booked through Love holiday (never again). Hotel and bedrooms are full of cockroaches. Staff unhelpful and rude. Food absolutely tasteless, served at room temperature, bland, and repetitive. Drinks lack flavour. No entertainment for families. Lose paving, broken sharp handrails, broken furniture!! Currently under reconstruction- very noisy. Ended up being charged more to get a “clean” room. Purchased own cleaning products and ate out most days. Such a waste of money and Love Holidays no help whatsoever. Please don’t waste your money!!

Truth
So... myself, partner and son returned to Laguna after visiting a good few times before. Around 8 times so would consider ourselves Laguna experts....First and foremost dont go all inclusive, self catering is the way forward. The main complaint is and always will be the food quality. We've never been all inclusive and as a base Laguna is great. Its cheap its cheerful and it is comfortable, despite what the moaners continue to say.
Check in was straight forward and our room was ready at 4. No issues straight in. If you expect water and other bits in your room on arrival grow up. You've paid for a 2 star hotel. Nothing more laughable than people moaning about tvs and WiFi. You're on holiday enjoy it without the ridiculous expectations. Rooms are clean and comfortable with plenty of room. Yes there is no air con but a ceiling fan and we always take small desk fans which are more than enough. Its tenerife so expect to be red hot! Plenty of cupboard space and room in the room. Tv which you can turn on manually but if you are so dramatic and need a remote you can pay 10 euros deposit to reception for it. Good toilet facilities and the maid was in every other day. Towels and bedding changed 4 times over 2 weeks. You dont change your bedding at home everyday so again those moaning have lost the plot.
Pool area is the best im tenerife. Massive, hundreds of sunbeds and not a single problem getting a bed everyday at 1000. Calm music playing throughout the day and a pool bar if needed. What I will say is, if you are a person who feels the need to bring your own speaker and play your own trash music, I truly feel sorry for you. You are an embarrassment and everyone thinks you are a joke. There is music playing and you cant seriously hear your own. Grow up and have a bit of respect for everyone else. Leave your little Bluetooth speaker at home and save the space in your suitcase. Lifeguards are good and watch the pool for the majority of the day. Usual single brain celled humans jumping from the bridge as soon as his back is turned. The warning signs are there for a reason and the pool is clearly not deep enough for it. There will be an accident one day and they will only have themselves to blame. Aside from this it's glorious.
There was construction work ongoing but this is to update the hotel and wasn't that bad at all. Not too loud and only during usual hours. Just as loud as anywhere else on earth with work ongoing.
Now the reason for the 2 star review and the real sticking point for me this year was the absolute influx of large, multiple groups of Spanish teenagers over the weekends. Hundreds flock to Laguna and take over the hotel. Clearly Laguna is suffering from a lack of families and these groups take over as its pretty empty. Not only are they exceptionally loud, screaming and shouting all night, arguing, banging doors and generally going mad. 1 security guard was trying to deal with them but was useless. They are spread throughout the whole hotel in between families and honestly its chaos. For 2 days arriving on Friday through Sunday it was chaos. Like a 18 - 30s holiday camp but on steroids. They all smoke cannabis around the pool all day stubbing cigarettes out on the pool edge, spitting all over and generally being disrespectful most of the day. Then the nighttime fun starts. 2 solid days then gone. During the week its fantastic and quiet but prepare yourself for this Spanish arrivals to cause true carnage. Laguna really need to get a grip of this as its embarrassing and will ultimately be the demise of the once family orientated hotel. Yes I appreciate bookings cant be managed all the time but they need to manage them while they are there. At no point did I see a single issue with other nationalities other than these Spanish groups of teens and its a real shame.
All in all im sure we will return as know the score and dont mind it. Aside from this if you dont mind a cheap and cheerful holiday and you aren't high maintenence this is the place for you!

Good but wouldn't come back
Not a bad place could be so much better we are here the first week of August so mane session and the restaurant is shut so food is in the place where the disco is and as for the food not great cooked nice but very little choice breakfast is OK sausage which is English pastry and cereal lunch hotdogs burgers and chips then normally fish in make shift restaurant the evening meals so far not good only about 3 meals to choose from drinks are good and the staff are good the pool is great but the rooms need updating no air con it's true you can what you pay for if you are coming I'd say you will have a good time as the pool and staff are good but bring some money as you will want to eat out which is not expensive

Book somewhere else
COMPLEX- Check in was easy, but you have to pay 10 euro deposit for the tv remote
Complex is large and definitely not made for anyone with mobility issues. The complex isn’t very clean, one of the sunloungers had ketchup on it (not from us) for days! The rooms are only cleaned every other day
ROOMS- Rooms are very dated, we were a family of one adult and 3 children (16, 14, 11) and I would say if you want to spend any time in your room it’s definitely not big enough
The bed was harder than concrete and for my teenage kids there was a very small sofa bed (if you could call it that) and another very small pop up bed.
POOL- The pool is great for kids and never a problem getting sun lounger. The water is salt water
ENTERTAINMENT- There’s NO entertainment and I presume this is because the restaurant is being refurbed and the food is now being served in the entertainment room
FOOD- now I’m not fussy at all but the food is not nice, it’s freezing cold, even first thing in the morning, there is a microwave to warm it up, I’m not even sure it’s up to hygiene standards how this is being served!
The snack bar is ok for the kids but not really adults unless you want burger and hotdogs everyday.
The evening is shocking!! Same layout as breakfast, one meat to choose from and again cold! We’ve been eating out in the evening.
We booked a last min break here and paid £525 for the accommodation for 4 of us for 4 nights, so taking it as it is, what it is.
But if your coming here for your family holiday as someone who comes here regularly to Tenerife, I’d spending that little bit more and choose somewhere else

Complete waste of money and breach of health and safety.
From check in, it all went downhill. Despite being all inclusive, there was nothing waiting in our room after a long day of travelling. Not even water and the shop was closed.
No air con and no fan in the room.
The following morning we went for breakfast. The bread was stale, the yogurt had curdled, reheated food which had become dry and rubbery. The same food was then repurposed for lunch and the same for dinner.
The main restaurant had closed for renovation but booking agent didn’t tell anyone.
The “entertainment” is non-existent as the entertainment team are doing the renovations.
The make shift restaurant has extremely limited options. Only ever a choice of 2 meats or main course dishes and reheated chips and chicken nuggets.
The snack bar consists of burgers or hot dogs. Both undercooked. Not replenished during the day and left to sit there in 33 degree heat to fester.
Rats congregate on a nighttime around the snack bar. Cockroaches in the room.
The staff look broken. The guests look broken.
We have had to eat out every night or risk food poisoning. And we are all inclusive. The staff won’t even eat the food. The hotel is known locally as having the worst reputation. On the Beach we’re aware that the main facilities would be closed well before we booked our holiday. No offer of alternative accommodation. No offer for reimbursement of expenses for eating out. We were offered a free whale and dolphin trip on the owners Maxicat Catamaran. When we arrived at the port, we were told it was full price.
You are not allowed mobility scooters or wheelchairs despite it being “wheelchair” friendly. Yet the staff whizz around on buggy’s.
You can use a round donut ring in the pool but no lilos. Sun beds aren’t adjustable and extremely uncomfortable. I could go on and on but no one at the hotel cares apart from Stephanie. The other staff members such as Cristabel smirk when you walk away after complaining. Stephanie is the only staff member who has tried to help guests.
