Tranquility, cleanliness, and nature.

We loved it. Very quiet, clean, and well-kept place. Close to the beach and supermarkets.
The owners are very friendly. Our daughter is enjoying the company of the inn's animals very much. Without a doubt, looking forward to returning.

Poor-never again!!!

We arrived on January 19th, 2024 as a group of three and had booked 3 of the larger and 1 small of 6 rooms for 1 month.
3 for 3 adults with a dog and one for our visiting daughter with 2 children, who stayed 8 nights. For this we paid €2100 + €50 per room for final cleaning and €50 for the dog.
That makes a total of €2450 (+ the costs for heating the communal kitchen).
The rooms were not cleaned once in the 4 weeks. The bed linen was 100% synthetic, disgusting. The duvets were very thin and of the cheapest, disgusting quality. Luckily we had our own bed linen with us.
The beds are all completely saggy, as other guests have confirmed. Turning the mattress over didn't help either. The springs on the small beds are sagging.
The mini glass table was barely big enough for a laptop. There was 1 chair in the room.
The blinds in my room were broken, so they could only be up or down. During the day I could only keep the sun out with a cloth.
In front of the door on the ground floor there were two chairs with broken struts. There were no pillows. We were not allowed to put anything we found on the beach on the table. These were removed and hung in a bag on my window.
The two interns who look after the horses and have their own living area preferred to take their lunch break right in front of our room.
We had booked rooms WITH heating, but we could not regulate the heating ourselves. At 6 a.m. the heating was blazing hot for a short time.
Then it was turned off. When you needed it in the evening it was cold.
You could still heat it with the air conditioning, though. Since it is still very cold in winter, 18 degrees and less, you are dependent on a warm room, especially when the sun is not shining, which was the case for about 10 days.
The loungers in front of the pool are in a pitiful state, old, partly worn out and full of stains. There were no cushions apart from a few old pillows with the straps cut off. There were also not enough loungers. If you needed another one, you had to get it yourself and clean it thoroughly.
The chairs that were still standing around were old and dirty.
Only the tables and chairs by the pool were cleaned.
Every day, especially at the weekend, numerous tennis guests walked past our rooms and loungers. Not very idyllic.
When I was lying on the lounger, I was the only one who had a rat walk past five times, which my dog usually discovered first. This was confirmed by another guest who had been there longer than us. When I pointed this out to the host, his terse answer was that the cats were too lazy to hunt. After I pointed this out, I was completely out of favor with the host.
Which now describes the unspeakable state of the communal kitchen:
The heating of the kitchen with a pellet stove had to be operated and paid for by the guests themselves. 7 E per bag, which was used up very quickly. As the kitchen building is in the shade, it was extremely cold there in the mornings. Before we used the oven, we had to vacuum it and clean the window. It took about 15 minutes to heat up and after another 15 minutes it reached 18 degrees. By then we were pretty frozen. Breakfast there was no fun, but there was no other warm place.
After we asked to speak to the hosts, the oven was reset and heated up a little faster.
The stove with 3 burners and no oven is really old and a lame duck.
The 2 pans and a pot are really scratched and harmful to health. They belong in the trash.
The coffee machine only came back from repairs 2 weeks after our arrival.
We were told that a guest had bought a kettle shortly before our arrival because there wasn't one. The cutlery was of the cheapest quality and partly bent, and there was far too little, as there were 9 guests there at times.
The sofa belongs in the trash because it is old, worn out, ugly with some cushions from another sofa and a disgusting throw.
The kitchen had not been cleaned before we arrived. The permanent guests were supposed to do that themselves. The old refrigerator that had been allocated to us was particularly dirty. I tried to clean the front once and discovered that the stains were rust.
Waste separation was not provided. There was only a large bucket with a large garbage bag that we had to carry 100 m outside the property to the garbage container.
All the garden furniture outside was dirty. One permanent guest said that after his arrival he and other guests had given 2 tables and 2 chairs a thorough cleaning. So the first thing to do was clean the tables and enough chairs. There was also a dented bar table next to the kitchen door. Not a pretty sight.
The aviary with some parrots also looked very run down.
Apparently the 26 horses were ridden every day. We couldn't determine that. The horses had very little space to run around, there was a lot of manure lying around and the whole facility was very run down and old.
The chicken coop also looked bad, for example it was dirty with horse manure. A horse was locked up there in about 20 square meters.
Of the 3 dogs that live there, one is an absolute barker who barked violently at me and my dog every time we entered or left the property.
Why they keep so many animals when they clearly can't do the work is a mystery to me.
We were only allowed to enter the restaurant, where a nice fire was burning in the evenings, if we had ordered food. This was a disappointment twice out of 3 times. There was too little, e.g. a very small piece of fish, another time langoustines with dry bread, a mini bowl of sauce for 3 people and a salad and all for €25. Outrageous. Also the breakfast for €10 with old bread.
The host, who was apparently very angry with me because of my complaints at the beginning, called after me as we left that he was glad we were finally leaving. He couldn't handle my criticism. The owner, 73 years old, probably couldn't either. I have rented many holiday homes and have never received a bad review.
As a host myself, I rented out my holiday home near Berlin via Airbnb for 7 years, so I know from this perspective what minimum standard you have to offer guests. My house was also old, but it had a perfectly equipped kitchen where everything worked and very good beds and sofas.
Maybe she should give up the business soon, as she is clearly overwhelmed with it.
I can provide numerous photos upon request.
One positive thing to mention is the beautiful plants on the property, which were also very well looked after.

Unspoilt spot and a dip in river

We didn't stay at the hotel only a day visit to make use of the fab spring water fed river. The bar and restaurant/cafe area was relaxing and the service good, the food was amazing for a lunch time snack.
Would definitely return and recommend to others
