The unmissable address for a comfortable and unforgettable stay!
We had a great stay at this hotel! The value for money is unbeatable, everything was super clean and well maintained. The welcome was warm, and a huge thank you to Mar for her kindness and benevolence and advice, she made us feel at home from our arrival. He is an exceptional person who makes our stay an unforgettable memory.
The location is ideal: close to shops, restaurants and Gran Via, with easy access to public transport. It is really the perfect place to enjoy the city to the fullest. We will return without hesitation!

FLEE FROM THERE. THE PHOTOS DO NOT CORRESPOND TO REALITY.
When booking we were aware that it was a cheap and simple hostel. But when you get there...
To begin with, the check-in service leaves a lot to be desired. The owner does it to you in a hallway with very little professionalism (she laughed and made fun of our request for a quiet room).
Upon entering the room we realized that it had nothing to do with the published photos. Broken floor, peeling and dirty walls, broken furniture, closet full of store hangers, very small and uncomfortable beds!!
In the toilet there were drops of pee and hair on the edge, they had urinated before we entered and there were remains!
Also garbage and dirt on top of the closet.
Neither the television nor the air conditioning worked. When we notify him he tells us that he will turn on the wall radiator for us "for a while." But the worst was yet to come. At night, when we showered, water began to leak through the floor from the drain, flooding the entire bathroom with fecal water!! dirty and smelly. The next day we tried to talk to the owner but we only saw a cleaner. We told her and she told us that this had already happened on other occasions and that she would notify the owner. It took the owner an hour to come to our room and we asked her to see if she could change our room and she told us that they were full and that they would clean our bathroom and try to fix the clog. We did not agree on that because a traffic jam like that is difficult to resolve with someone staying in the room. We asked him to please refund us the rest of the stay so we could go somewhere else and he refused. Once we have collected our things to stay somewhere else, the owner comes and asks us for the keys!! We told him that we had a paid reservation and we would return it on the day of departure and... HE CALLED THE POLICE ON US. When they arrived they agreed with us. Obviously the owner wanted to rent the room again, taking advantage of the fact that we were going somewhere else. The next day we returned and the shower continued to release dirty water through the drain. Obviously they hadn't fixed it. In short, a place to avoid and run away from there.

Bad room lacking minimums. Good ubication
Even knowing that it was a hostel, it DOES NOT meet the minimum to guarantee a comfort and "pleasant" stay. We went with children, and we seemed like bagabundos since the window that overlooks the light patio does not close if you do not put a suitcase or chair, the hair dryer was off the hook, light bulbs are missing, the closet does not close..... when we entered we just wanted to cry looking at the room. Since knowing that we were going to a hostel but not in those conditions..... good location. Walking to everything.

Central and good price
Very good accomodation for cheap prices! The air conditioning was functioning (very important in Madrid!), bedsheets and towels were changed everyday, location is central I could do everything on foot. I had a fridge in my room. Internet worked perfectly also for meetings. I can only say thanks.

Very pleasant place to stay
Enjoyed an 8 night stay here and was very pleased. Catalan is run by good people. They were very helpful to us when needed. The rooms are clean, comfortable and basic, which met our needs and expectations. The hostal was quiet during our stay, which was a plus. The neighborhood is great and convenient to most Madrid attractions. There are a number of good restaurants and bars in the neighborhood that are not really touristy. Very bohemian area. Big pluses for us. Very good shopping in the area also.
A good value, run by good people - it will be a pleasure to return.
