Breath taking view of lake Zurich

I stayed here for a week with my colleagues on a leadership team building seminar. The property is very nice and I’d over looking lake Zürich which is very peaceful.
The rooms are in the small side but adequate with a large bath room. The property has a large living quarters area which if nice for team gatherings with numerous meeting rooms.
The dinning experience is very good, the dinner and lunches are very good and they offer vegetarian options that are also very good. The breakfast is also good but could offer a larger variety of off the menu cooked egg dishes.
The staff was accommodating, friendly and very helpful. Overall great experience.

Ignorant and cold-hearted

It hardly gets any more miserable. Unfriendly, ignorant staff, except for one gentleman at the reception. I cannot rate the food, as we left after waiting a long time in an empty restaurant. It is inexplicable to me how a property in such a location can be empty. Must be the management!?

Best view - with talentless cooking.

Top view - social democratic cuisine or something like that? Almost only seminar visitors who have to eat there, very few guests in the best weather. Impressive ancient linden trees that have survived thanks to the inertia of the officials, but everything else is designed in a proletarian, loveless manner. At least the restrooms are clean. At least there are parking spaces despite the social democratic = inedible cuisine. At least the chairs are quite comfortable; even officials could sit there. In this location, can one particularly economize in the kitchen? Can a board of trustees be so incompetent? Apparently. Incompetence is often the main reason for promotion. The kitchen was already borderline last year. She has taken another step further, in the slanted direction. Fish bites, inedible; burgers: who can make them any worse? The fish starts to smell at the head, meaning at the board of trustees. One probably has to pay the chef reasonably first before a chef with flair can lead, someone who can cook simple dishes; there is no need for pretentiousness, but a certain quality is required. The board of trustees presumably does not realize that the chef would also need to be paid above average if his performance is to be satisfactory. In this super location - but hardly any guests, except for seminar visitors who have no choice. The guest feels zero engagement from the kitchen. Zero. Foundations nowadays increasingly smell bureaucratically-social-democratic, weak. Like the officials of the city of Zurich - best facilities in a better location, with miserable performance. And that is about how the kitchen performs, like in heritage preservation. As long as one is even allowed to use the term kitchen for what is offered. The kitchen at civil protection in Meilen is - depending on the cook - significantly better, significantly.

Comfort and cleanliness at the top

✅ Strengths:
Warm welcome: The staff was smiling, available and professional from the moment I arrived, which made my stay pleasant from the very first moments.
Comfortable bedding: I slept very well, the mattress and pillows were quality, perfect for a relaxing night.
Spacious bathroom: The bathroom was large, clean and well equipped, with a shower or bathtub (depending on the room) very appreciable.
High performance WiFi: The connection was stable and fast enough to work smoothly, a real plus for business travelers.
⚠️ Area for improvement:
Breakfast: Overall correct, but it could be a bit more varied or better (e.g. fresh produce, wider choice). That said, it remains quite acceptable for a hotel in this category.
Conclusion: Excellent value for money for a hotel. I recommend without hesitation for a short or professional stay, and I will gladly return if the opportunity arises again!

Very small rooms, mediocre food

The best thing is the location and the really great view of Lake Zurich and the Alps. We also had a great view from our seminar room "Lyria". The rooms are very small, very thinly soundproofed. Those without a view of the lake are very unattractive. Dinner (for 52.-) consisted of a salad, cordon bleu with a few potatoes and tinned peas, and a small bowl of caramel cream. At lunch, another piece of fried meat with tinned beans.

Wir entschuldigen uns dafür, dass Sie die Verpflegung während des Seminares nicht geniessen konnten. Selbstverständlich verwenden wir kein Gemüse aus Dosen - ein nicht unerheblicher Teil stammt gar aus dem eigenen Garten. Dass dieser Eindruck bei Ihnen entstanden ist, bedauern wir sehr.
