Pleasant arrival

I didn't budget for other hotels in the city center because I happened to be in Ankara. For its money and 3* all very decent, separate pleasure provided by the hotel's authentic interior. It was also important to me as a woman to arrive safely, and that's where they provided it. I wanted to commend manager Mehmet, polite and alert. There's an extra nice laundry service.

Don't waste your money.

I experienced serious problems, particularly with the billing, during my one-night stay. I find it unacceptable that the invoice I requested for my business trip, clearly intended for submission to my institution, was not issued, and instead, an invoice was provided in the name of the travel agency from which I purchased the ticket, for a lower amount than what I paid. Moreover, this happened despite the fact that I had purchased a 5-night stay from the same travel agency and presented proof of the hotel I stayed at and the invoice I received.
Furthermore, when it came to room selection, alternatives overlooking the apartment building's common area were offered, and a refrigerator, a basic comfort feature, was only provided upon separate request and was found to be very dirty.
As someone who has frequently traveled to Ankara for business for 23 years, I have never encountered a similar billing problem until now. Therefore, I am sharing my experience for consumer information purposes. I would advise those choosing to stay in the Ulus area in particular to pay attention to real user experiences and businesses that have changed their names.

Cihan palas

The budget hotel in Ankara is the best! The value for money is perfect. The location is convenient. Nearby metro station and you can reach the mausoleum, the very centre of the city and the mosques interesting and the fortress visit
The hotel is all clean and sufficient very cheap breakfast Near a very shop with groceries and more. Opposite the restaurant is wonderful
Lived on the 4th floor with a nice view.

We chose Cihan Palas because of its history and location. It's well past its best now but you can tell it used to be the height of glamour last century. The spiral staircase is impressive and there are comfy leather seats on the top floor terrace. It was lacking in upkeep, as shown by some lights not working in the room, dirty shower screen and toilet rubbish left in the fridge, missing towels and toilet paper. However the staff were quick to respond when we asked for supplies. The elderly gentleman on the front desk was a complete charmer and as helpful as can be and the young lady was quick to make us coffees and make us comfortable. Close to lots of shops and easy walking distance to many of Ankara's sights. Recommended if you can tolerate a few imperfections. Large room, good value for money.

Lots of issues. The photos showed a room with a desk and office chair. I got a beat up table and upright chair. Dust bucket under bed. Dirty shower. Main issue was no internet for 24 hours. At first not believed, then snow blamed even though it was fine elsewhere in the hotel. No offer for me to change rooms. On the plus side a couple of the staff were friendly, the bed was comfy, mainly quiet and they did store my luggage for me for a few hours at the end of my stay. But overall poor.
