Positive

We stayed in theis beautiful quircky edwardian arts & crafts house last week.
We had a warm welcome from Darrel the manager & Joanne the owner. I had driven with my dog from Wales & as soon as I walked in I knew I was safe. It felt like a home from home. This is a massive home to upkeep on your own & I take my hat off to Jo & Darrel for keeping it as comfy & clean as you can a 125 year old home. Please stay in this eccentric English home & give them a chance.
I will be back as was made so welcome & my dog settled straight away.

Misrepresentation online vs reality - don’t stay here!

This has to be the worst place I have ever stayed overnight, unfortunately prepaid 2 nights 7th Aug and again 13th Aug pre and post flights and if the other local hotels weren’t fully booked we would have moved instantly. This “elegant” accommodation is completely misrepresented online, more like a hostel. Shared bathroom, communal areas right outside bedroom doors with no privacy or sound proofing. Seems to be no rules for quiet times, both nights was kept awake into the early hours of the mornings despite having 4 young children and no accommodation host to enforce any polite behaviours, twice had other peoples children just open the door walk into our bedroom. Beds and room layout not as described at all. Dont know how they’ve passed any safety or fire inspections, we (adults) stayed awake to closely supervise our sleeping children from coming to any harm and left as quickly as we could early morning both stays. I turned off power to the daisy chained extension leads around the bedroom, had to take mattresses off of the very unstable “bunk beds” to put the children on the floor prevent it from collapsing. To lock the “bedroom” door we had a latch and padlock?! Which also had a latch on the outside of that door - creepy.
Massive waste of money and very stressful stays. Would not recommend for families. The photo is of the inside “door” to the family bedroom! Directly adjacent the communal “kitchen”

Great little find

Great for what I needed.Host was amazing very welcoming and friendly.very unique place relaxing garden with extras.sweet little find.clean and comfy

AVOID!! Owner flat out lied. Listing stated AC and when I messaged to say please can the AC be put on in our room she said yes it is warm we will cool it down for you. No AC at property. Also shared bathroom which listing never stated. Ended up leaving as the place was horrible and booking elsewhere and fighting to get it refunded.
I would never stay here

I fully recommend this hotel.
Very friendly, proffecional duty manager, even carried my bag upstairs!
Very dog friendly, clean comfortable rooms & bathroom in a beautiful edwardian arts & crafts house with a lovely swimming pool, bbq, outdoor kitchen etc. Owner Joanne was so welcoming & I fully encourage anyone flying from Gatwick to stay here.
