Lush new years break.
We came here on 30/12/22. The lodge is easy to find on a lovely quite site. Lodge is very spacious and clean.
We have had the best stay and looking to come back soon, there are a decent amount of quality dog friendly pubs within a 10 minute drive.

Was supposed to be a relaxing week.
Worst cabin ever.
Uncomfortable, dirty,broken and missing things.
Dirty plates
Chipped cups
Springs poking through mattress.

Dirty and disappointing.
In a word: Disgusting.
This lodge was dirty and smelled bad. There was hair everywhere, even nail clippings on the floor. Amenities listed that don't exist (washing machine). Kitchen had a leak under the sink, also smelled of sewage.
Crockery dirty. Mould in the shower. Broken tap in the bathroom. Drawers in child's room had loose screw sticking out at head height. Table outside so old and damaged as to be unusable. Bins outside still had rubbish from previous guests.
So disappointed and upsetting. We stayed one night because the owner promised to address problems, but the cleaners who came didn't do anything (they didn't even wipe up the cleaning products we sprayed in the bath and sink to try and get rid of the filth) so we left, despite having booked for five days.
We actually stayed in August 2022, but the option to say that doesn't exist.
Now, the owner will reply here denying responsibility and probably making a series of false allegations. He does that with other guests who question the quality of his property. However, we have videos and photos of EVERYTHING and are happy to share them.
The owner refused any responsibility at the time and withheld the full refund we were entitled to.
He even laughably claimed we didn't pay him in the first place! Begs the question why he would allow a family to stay if they hadn't paid.
The property is NOT 5 star, and was mis-sold.
Avoid.

Well recommended but with some little niggles
Returned from a 5 night stay at Eagle Lodge and it really is well recommended. The lodge is easy to find, and the check in process, access to keys, and information folder all really helpful and easy.
The lodge is exactly as described and located in a quiet Golf and Country club; ideally suited for a quiet retreat rather than for bustling families. The lodge is well equipped with most things you would need for your break. Although there is little space for hanging clothes etc that is to be expected. The Lodge has free wifi which has a good signal throughout each room. There is a narrow parking space at the front, so you don’t get into trouble for parking on the grass.
Of course, the big bonus is the outside enclosed 6 person dining area and hot tub with jets and lights. After a long day of exploring the sights of Northumbria, this was an absolute delight.
The little niggles? The lodge wasn’t as clean as could be and we had to spend some time washing / cleaning items before using them.
The 2 nearest villages have excellent pubs and restaurants serving amazing food.
Overall - this is a recommended place to stay and a real credit to the owners. Thank you for a memorable time.

Great weekend
Just come back from eagle lodge. We had a great time fantastic location, the lodge itself faultless very cosy!
The area is so quiet and we even had a friendly visitor see photograph. The hot tub best I’ve been in and the hot tub area was fantastic for family gatherings, very private. The shop is a little way from the site so make sure you have all your essentials for when you arrive if it’s late!
Definitely be coming back
