Budget hotel in good location

We stayed in this hotel from 1 AM to 7 AM in the morning. Though it is a very short stay to review a hotel, I like the room. It was clean and good condition.
There is a Denny's opposite to the hotel. There are some nearby grocery stores. Overall, we liked it.

Aaaarrrggghh! I was scared the whole time

Obviously, this "hotel" had once been quite chic and its new Indian owners had decided to take it down market. Right down. When I entered the reception area, I should have smelt a rat - the whole reception area was like a junkyard and cut off from the receptionist by a high security screen with only the thinnest of slots to allow papers to pass through. The whole place shouted "This is not a very nice part of town". On my way up the filthy steps to my room (which was fine), the view was of Denny's, a parking lot with not many cars and the building site that was probably once the swimming pool. I had sent a few things on ahead to the hotel and they had looked after them well. When I had unpacked them, I went for a walking tour of the area and, within 5 minutes, had been assailed by a screaming man (I ran into a fast food "restaurant" to get to safety) and propositioned by a thin, scruffy and distinctly out-of-this-world woman. I retired to my room, kept an eye on my car and escaped early the next morning.

Luckyfeststay

I stayed with my bf on the 17th because all others we're full because they had lucky fest happening. It was a nice stay. Everything was clean and perfect. I would stay again. Also was really quite. I would recommend this place to anyone. The price was good not to bad.

Better and improving

What a change from 2 years ago. I stayed her last during Modesto cars festival and I picked this place because it was close to all the activities. I did not like it then but this year I saw a drastic change. Wood style floor in my room, new furniture, flat screen TV and I even got coffee pot upon request. No breakfast but Danny's in parking lot is open 24hrs. All in all it was worth paying $55 and not worry about hiring taxi or wasting gas money. Other motels were in $70 range but farther from downtown.
Overall, I liked it this time and I will recommend it to my friends and family too.

Motel surrounded by drunk people

At first we thought we heared some good reviews about Discovery Inn in another town. So we thought let's give it a try. The desk at the lobby is completely sealed with glass. After I asked why he made it this way, and I got an answer, he stepped through his door and gave me the keys. I think he gave me the personal approach...
The rooms also clean(ish) at first impression. When you look closer, it is not. Also all sort of things are broke.
We are used to the motel kind of motels. The motels that are not that clean but have a nice owner and nice admosphere. Discovery inn is not that clean but lacks those compensations.
The outside environment of the motel is a bit shabby. Like it's not meant to be liked by guests. The pool is empty and dirty. Also there are alcoholics walking around the property.
I should stay somewhere else. Price for a king room was $ 55 incl. tax.
