Overnight stay after Dynamo game

It was a very nice overnight stay, everything was clean,
wonderful food at the Italian restaurant and at breakfast.
We will definitely be back.
We couldn't find anything negative.

For a guesthouse it is excellent

For a three star University Guesthouse this is excellent. The rooms are spacious, clean (there is cleaning service every day), the bathroom is good with a good shower. There is a fridge in the room (no minibar), a very good desk so you can work comfortably, the beds (twin) provide good sleep. The roll-down mosquito nets are a bonus. Breakfast is rather pricey but good, reasonable selection and you can ask for a good espresso coffee. Location is good with easy access to tram and bus services. Recommended.

Too many negative things

The hotel is fairly close to central Dresden and the Grosser Garten, but has lots of free car parking. Although the basic price was quite low, I was still disappointed. I'll be returning to another hotel that I've used on two previous visits to Dresden.
1. Breakfast was expensive. At €13.50 each, there should be hot food provided (not just scrambled eggs).
2. The wifi is terrible. It is slow, and times out repeatedly. My daughter (a UK student) was lucky - she had a login for the university network across the road!
3. The city tax of €9.20 per person per night is also a LOT.
4. It is not possible to walk between floors because the keys only work on your own floor. We had two rooms on different floors, and could only meet by using the elevator. What's the point? It clearly hasn't made the place more secure.

Perfect for university visitors

Good-sized room, with all the comfort needed, including free wifi. Bed very comfortable, bathroom nice, all very clean. I did not have breakfast so, so I cannot judge. Hotel is near the tram to go down to the train station. The distance to the university campus is not big, on foot ca. 10-15 min. Very quiet place. Staff very friendly and efficient.

Wonderful for visits to the University of Dresden

Easy to get to that university guesthouse cum hotel. Receptionist very pleasant and efficient. Room very spacious, actually huge, good enough for at leas three people. Wifi worked well in the room. Beds oddly separated, so not so good for couples. But still very pleasant. Bathroom with shower just fine. Breakfast sumptious, though not stellar. Very solid and well done. You can walk fairly easily from the hotel to the university (ca. 15 min. on foot), but there is absolutely nothing in the vicinity of that hotel, no pub, no store, no restaurant. Bus connection from train station very easy and fast; the same applies to the tram. But if you have university business to do, this is the hotel to stay in. You will be ca. 25 min. away from the old town, on foot.
