Travelling!!
I stayed at the Katalin Ponziò hotel for one night because of a car problem.
It was a real surprise to meet this particular place a bit out of the way but within walking distance of essential services and a quarter of an hour from the center of Budapest.
But the real surprise was to meet the wonderful person who runs it, Ms. Katalin: after a very difficult day,her sweet welcome made me feel protected,in a time of need I received so much attention and help to solve my problem as well as to really make me feel at home.
I will gladly return to this hotel, the patience the availability the generosity of Ms. Katalin are priceless.

Yet another horrid experience in this country
Been looking for a late sameday booking in Budapest as I had been driving with my son for hours. Was happy to find this one available close to where we were so booked it. When getting there we got greeted by an elder lady who couldn't speak English and "conveniently" informed us there's no way to pay by card. It was late and the thought of finding and ATM was not appealing. But the cherry on the cake was her behaviour. My 2.5y old son was energetic and maybe louder than the regular human being. The kind receptionist kept trying to silence him rudely. Picked up our things and found a regular hotel. Couldn't be happier with the decision.

Cheap and ok
Cheap acomondation, rooms are a bit aged but in Order. The location is even as it's close to the highway pretty silent. Sadly the staff is not speaking any english or german. Also the Wifi is only working downstairs but not in the rooms upstairs. For the price it's really ok. Going by car to the bank of donahue close to the city centre (free parking in there) takes around 20 minutes and is easy to find. Good for travelers on low budget having a car.

Lovely location but small rooms
Upon arrival our reservation for 3 nights appeared to have been cancelled but not by us, I had booked the hotel 6 months previously and had the required paperwork to prove it. We had travelled from England with our 2 dogs to attend the World Dog Show, I knew that I hadn't cancelled it. Fortunately Aggie (the only English speaker at the hotel) was working on reception and managed to sort it out and find us a small room. She was very helpful even giving us her mobile phone number in case we needed a translator as none of the other staff spoke English. The room was very small and tired but served its purpose There was no restaurant or bar, the nearest being @ 2 km away. The location was excellent with a nature reserve adjoing it. Unfortunately the nearby property had a kennel of dogs who were let out just before midnight every night and barked continuously for over an hour waking us every night. Overall, a budget hotel with no frills. Would stay again but only if I needed to prepare my dogs for a show.

Nie wieder!!!!
Weil wir uns zu spät entschieden haben Silvester im Budapest zu verbringen, haben wir nirgendwo mehr zwei Doppelzimmer gefunden, so sind wir auf diese Pension gekommen. Und dachten, auf eine deutsche Seite etwas besseres zu finden. Wir sind überzeugte Nichtraucher, unsere Zimmer war ein Raucherzimmer, beim jeden Atemzug haben wir das gespürt. Das "Bad" war ca.1,10 Qm, vom uraltem Badezimmerspiegelschrank fehlte eine Tür, die Schubladen unten waren voller Treck. Überall waren Spinnweben. Das "King size Bett" war max.140 breit, für 2 Personen EINE 140 cm (Normalgröße) Sommerdecke. Zum glück haben wir im Schrank eine zweite bezogene Decke gefunden, möchte aber nicht wissen, wer das schon eventuell benutzt hat. Im Zimmer von meine erwachsene Kinder war die zweite, benutzte, nach schmutzige Bettwäsche riechende Bettdecke auch im Schrank, drinnen war eine sehr alte, verbrauchte, unangenehm riechende dünne Decke, keine richtige Bettdecke. Diese wurde auf unsere Beschwerde dann vom Personal ausgetauscht. Auf das Fensterbrett, als Kälteschutz, war eine karierte Stück Wolldecke platziert. Das Mobiliar war Sperrmüllware, ein Stuhl hat einen Bein, die nicht nur gewackelt, sondern auf eine Seite gestanden ist. Obwohl auf der Homepage gestanden ist, das man vor Ort für 5 € einen Frühstück bestellen kann, gab keine Möglichkeit dazu. Am 1.01 sind wir ohne Frühstück das "Pansio" verlassen und werden nie wieder dorthin gehen. Ich habe mit mein Smartphone ein paar Fotos gemacht.
Das Personal hat sich bemüht, waren alle nett, freundlich, hilfsbereit. Eine Dame hat uns sogar Käsestangen serviert, was sie als Andenken für ihre Mutter jedes Jahr backt.
Unsere Fazit:
wer wenig Geld ausgeben will und keine Ansprüche hat, soll hingehen, wer aber ein gemütliches Bett und saubere Bettwäsche, der soll was andere suchen. Weil billig muss nicht unbedingt schmutzig und grausig sein.
Das Personal hat sich bemüht, waren alle nett, freundlich, hilfsbereit. Eine Dame hat uns sogar Käsestangen serviert, was sie als Andenken für ihre Mutter jedes Jahr backt.
