Tea and much more

The way the rooms are named after ports of trade is very interesting.
We were at Goa.
The building is a heritage bunglow.
Very kind and friendly staff
Good food.
Excellent service.
Except bathrooms. The water was coming out beyond the glass doors.
But it was set right. Attended immediately.
Strong wi fi that my daughter could work from there.
We enjoyed the kochi biennale because we stayed at the tea bunglow
Walkable distance to many places of prime importance
We will visit again and again

Excellent

Booked by our travel agent . The hotel is centrally located but at night very quiet and serene . The food is delicious and authentic. The Manager Saitha Pillar ( I think that is correct ) is brilliant. Gluten free for my coeliac husband was not an issue for them . Often cooking special dishes especially for him . We would have liked to have known the history of the tea bungalow , maybe put some details on the walls . It’s only by reading this trip advisor that we found out it was owned by Brooke Bond !!! They need to advertise this and maybe do a tea tasting . It would definitely appeal to UK visitors

Lovely characterful building with great manageress

We stopped here as part of a tour of Kerala. It’s a beautiful building, although parts of the main buildings, rooms and pool area would benefit from a little upgrading. However the service from the manageress is first class. She made us feel very welcome, arranged massages for us and generally looked after us. The breakfast was very nice and is served at the table, rather than being a buffet which is nice.

We loved it, superb

Homey, beautiful, very helpful and kind staff, excellent location, superb breakfast. We will surely return next time (scheduled in two years). Very highly recommended!

Tourists beware - we were overcharged 2000rupees for a regular dish and given a "special dish" excuse after billing

Beware of the pricing! We had lunch there and ordered "today's special" recommended by the staff. We were charged at the end ₹2000 for a small seafood dish for one person. Menu prices were ₹200–₹450. When questioned, staff claimed it was a ‘special dish’ but no price was listed and no explanation was given beforehand. As Western tourists, we felt taken advantage of. Disappointing experience. We have just arrived in India, excited to get to know the country, and this made us leave this restaurant with a very bad feeling.
