Avoid!!!

Stayed at the Shamrock Inn on 12/08/2026 . I'd like to make you aware of an lot of problems within the establishment. We stayed in room 11 on the 1st floor. The hotel (as advertised) seems more of a hostel or HMO situation. The front door was loud opening and closing until 2am, and started again at 6pm. The noise from the upstairs rooms was loud from 6am. The room was dusty, and dirty. The bedding felt damp, and itchy, and the room was hot, with no fan or air-conditioning. We we're unable to open the window as the room faced onto the main road, and other residents were stood outside our window smoking. In the kitchen, the sink was full with dirty pots and pans, so didn't use these facilities at all. Although, we had expected a tea tray in our room as advertised - there wasn't one. The free WiFi didn't work, and there was only 1 accessible plug socket to use, which was hanging off the wall. The bathroom had rubbish on the floor, poo skid-marks, wee and toilet paper in the toilet, and the toilet seat was hanging off. The smell of the room was disgusting, really damp smelling, as did the towels. The wooden tiles were coming up and cracked. The shower door was off its rails. Again, we can't comment of the shower as we didn't use the facilities for being so disgusting.. There were dirty marks on the wall, hand prints and foot marks. The skirting and shelves thick with dust. The bunk beds were creaky, and there were 2 screws on the floor under the bed. We traveled with 2 children and we felt very unsafe. If we hadn't arrived so late, and in peak season, we would have tried to find somewhere else. I'd like to request a refund, we didnt speak to someone on the morning as we just wanted to leave quickly.
I have emailed two different contacts with no reply. We've also text and WhatsApp messaged with no responses.

Checkin was easy enough. Building is old and floors and slanted. There is no elevator.
Rooms are small and quite tight to move around in. It’s nice they have a kettle due instant coffee, sugar and creamers, and tea with ceramic mugs.
Shower seems updated which was good otherwise.
Unfortunately the WiFi did not work at all even though they tried fixing it. Saw the network but no internet was available. Which was a big problem since we’re visiting out of country and need it whenever we’re staying at a place to do research and such and a key factor when booking a stay.
It was also stuffy in the unit. When leaving the window open, it was even louder with the outside traffic noises. You’re right at the main road. Unfortunately we did not know this.

Check in instructions were given in advance, which were clear. The room itself was on the small side, no tea or coffee making facilities but there were toiletries. Lots of fluffy towels were provided but only one hanger. The lady at the check in desk was helpful, informing me the on street parking was free overnight til 10:30am. Shame about the fire alarm which woke everyone up at 11:30pm, due to a shower with no fan on.

Would not advice a stay in the Shamrock , had to go up 3 flights of steps up to the room 36 steps. A kip . The kitchen was manky . Would not feel comfortable. Tg it was only 2 nights. I would rather sleep on the street. Never again.

Get what you pay for but kitchen was unusable as sink was full of dirty items, nobody was around either.
