Comfortable B&B where the hosts let you experience Florence like a local! (Very family friendly.)
This great B&B, in a sweet neighborhood 15 minutes by bus or 25 minutes on foot from the Duomo and lets you feel like a real Italian. Host speaks excellent English and is most accommodating.
You are welcomed with coupons for morning pastry and coffee at their local cafes, great advice on seeing the famous Florence sites, and a small guest fridge in their large front room/office, where you can stash milk, yogurt and other snacks. Very family-friendly, rooms with high ceilings in the old style, lovely views of the streets, make you feel like a real Italian, not a tourist. Great B&B for couples too, who want quick access to the Florence museums, but also a real neighborhood feeling with nice local cafes and restaurants.
Basic amenities: elevator, a/c, comfortable beds, porch with cafe tables to enjoy food you can buy on the streets below. There is an small elevator on the entry ground floor lever, big enough for a few suitcases. Bathrooms have showers, soap and shampoo, bidet to use as you wish (even to wash and rinse socks).
Local amenities: All tourist sites are within 10-15 minutes by cab or bus. There is a big COOP supermarket 3 blocks away, (like a Whole Foods in the US) where you can get yogurt or anything to stash in the B&B fridge.
This is a great B&B if you want to live like an Italian, not just visit Italy, as a couple or with family. Great "Lavanderia" (Coin Laundry ) 2 blocks away which takes either euros or credit cards.
Local restaurants we liked: Spartacus Bistro ($$) (nice outdoor tables); Osteria del Pesce ($$$) Bread & Breakfast Cafe ($)
Host gave us coupons for free coffee and pastry on Day One for local cafes like Cafe Cimabue and Bread & Break a block from the front door for free morning coffee and pastry. Always ask Enrico for advice and coupons -- he has many!
Tip to avoid wasting money on bad tourist site food: Buy lunch sandwiches on focaccia bread (tuna, prosciutto, etc.) to go at the local cafes, available there by mid-morning or earlier.
Hosts will give you good advice and maps to find the famous and the less touristy sites. This B&B is near a lot of great restaurants like the high-end seafood restaurant Osteria del Pesce on Via Vincenzo Gioberti (a main drag for shops, restaurants, and bakeries). It's a neighborhood where families (many with kids) live, work and are friendly and helpful.
WARNING: There is another hotel with the name "Cimabue" in it, but this review is for the B&B "Cimabue 9" -- which is great. I don't know if the other is also great, but this review is about "Cimabue 9" where you will see Cafe Cimabue below the door where you enter. Your host here is Enrico, who is wonderful.

Rooms were nice, clean, quiet, and spacious. Nice location in real Florence neighborhood with good food nearby but also walkable to the river and the major attractions. Enrico, the proprietor, was very helpful, knowledgeable, and gracious.

Very nice B&B in Firenze.
아주 멋진 장소입니다. 주인 엔리께가 매우 친절하고 이것저것 많이 알려줍니다. 아침도 원할 경우에는 5유로에 차려주고 있어요. 화려하진 않지만, 이탈리아 사람들이 어떻게 아침을 먹나도 알수 있고 만족합니다. 장소도 매우 좋습니다. 복잡한 지역에서는 조금 떨어져있어서 동네는 조용하고, 버스도 잘 다니고, 걸어서도 왠만한 위치를 걸어 서 갈 수 있어요. 매우 추천합니다. 여기로 가세요!!

Fifth time in Florence
Excelent!
We spent another 8 days a this lovely B&B and everything was amazing, just as we expected. The same extraordinary quality of service, the same dedication, patience and friendship of the owners. Grazie Enrico!

Another wonderful stay at Cimabue9
In our many trips to Florence Cimabue 9 is always our first contact point. Enrico is always a great host and goes to those extra lengths to ensure guests are comfortable and looked after. The location, a little out of the centro (but within walking distance), is a great haven away from the many tourists and provides a better reflection of day to day life in Florence. 2 great little cafes next door and just opposite are an easy way to enjoy great coffee at local prices and a fantastic restaurant at end of street for those that want to sample a Florentine steak.
We'll be back in Florence and will definitely be back at Cimabue 9. Thanks for another wonderful stay Enrico and Onisa. See you in a couple of years!
