Room 112 in this hotel with no real opening to let in air

Room in this hotel with no real opening to let in air, a very unpleasant fact
The bathroom window opens onto the space where the hotel collects its garbage.
And the only other window opens onto an external staircase.
Finally, last but not least for an Italian hotel, the bathroom has no bidet.

Dear Guest,
We are sorry to hear that the room’s ventilation and window outlook did not meet your expectations. The bathroom window opens onto an internal service area and the second window faces an external staircase; these are fixed architectural features of the building that we are unfortunately unable to alter.
Regarding the absence of a traditional bidet: the room you occupied is specifically designed to be accessible for guests with reduced mobility. In accordance with accessibility standards, the bidet function is integrated directly into the WC rather than provided as a separate fixture.
We appreciate you taking the time to write to us and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again under better circumstances.
This the 3rd review for the same stay, I hope this is the last one.

Great location, clean hotel and wonderful breakfas

We really enjoyed our stay at the Mercure Hotel Palermo Centro. The hotel is in a great location for exploring Palermo, and everything was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was also excellent, with plenty of choice and something for everyone.
A special mention has to go to Giuseppe behind the bar and the gentleman who served at breakfast. He
They were both incredibly friendly, kind, knowledgeable and helpful throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble for gussipe and his warm and welcoming attitude really made a difference. In fact, he was one of the highlights of our whole stay and is a real credit to the hotel.
There were a couple of less positive points. Unfortunately, on a few occasions some of the female bar staff came across as rather rude and unwelcoming, particularly when we asked for a glass of ice, which was disappointing given how hot it was. A little more warmth and friendliness would have made a big difference.
The safe in our room also stopped working a few times, although this was dealt with and fixed by the hotel.
Overall, we had a lovely stay and would recommend the Mercure Hotel Palermo Centro, particularly because of its location, cleanliness, breakfast and the fantastic service from Giuseppe and the breakfast waiter. Their kindness and helpfulness really stood out.

Stay at the Mercure Hotel Palermo!

We had a lovely time staying at this hotel, when we arrived we were greeted very warmly by the staff and then surprised with an upgraded room! The whole hotel and our room was very well cleaned every day and we had no issues with any part of our stay. As 2 girls travelling in a city we didn't know, the hotel felt extremely safe and the staff were very kind towards us with anything we needed or any restaurant recommendations (Oste E Pizza is a great pizza place near to the hotel).
We would like to say thank you to the lovely staff member at breakfast who provided my friend with gluten-free products, and remembered us at other breakfasts. He would check if we were finding the gluten-free options around the city okay and recommended some gluten-free restaurants he goes to with his wife in the city (we tried one and it had amazing food).
Thank you very much to all the lovely staff and cleaners at the hotel, you made our experience of travelling to Palermo amazing!
