Mo was very friendly and helped us with all of our needs. The room was clean and perfect for our family. The stairs are an adventure!

Great Location, Serious Cleanliness Issues

As someone who has worked in hospitality for over five years and previously ran a hotel, cleanliness is my top priority—and unfortunately, that’s where this stay fell far short.
The location is excellent and truly the strongest part of this hotel. It’s within walking distance to everything, making it very convenient for sightseeing. As expected in Amsterdam, the building has steep, narrow stairs and smaller rooms. We researched this ahead of time, so neither was a surprise. The room itself was compact but functional, fitting a queen bed (made from two twins pushed together) and a small makeup table with adequate lighting.
That said, the beds were uncomfortable, sinking noticeably in the middle, and upon arrival our sheets felt damp and had stray hairs on them—an immediate red flag.
The bathroom was a much bigger issue. There was a strong sewer smell coming from the shower and sink drains that made it impossible to leave the bathroom door open, especially after showering. Even more concerning was the extensive black mold covering the tile. I am allergic to mold, and by the second day I was completely congested, struggling to breathe, and wheezing.
What was most disturbing is that housekeeping entered our room on the second day while we were out sightseeing (without any prior notice), tidied up, and cleaned the bathroom—yet clearly found the mold and sewer odor acceptable, as no one addressed it or contacted us. They simply made the bed around our belongings and left fresh towels in a bathroom that was still unsanitary.
With proper attention to cleanliness and maintenance, this hotel could be much better, especially given its location. However, due to the hygiene issues alone, I would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone with allergies or sensitivities.

Hotel from hell

Visited mid July during a heat wave, our room was on 4th floor no elevator, no air conditioner just a little fan plus our windows only cracked open. It was well over 90° in our room. When we spoke with management they didn't care. If you are looking for a miserable experience this is your place.

Do not stay here. We booked this hotel for 3 nights. There were no elevators and we were given a room on the top floor which my husband could not climb due to recent knee surgery. There was also NO air conditioning and it was 90 degrees outside. Also a big problem since my husband uses a CPap machine to breathe at Night. Not ideal especially since we booked this 6 months in advance. The owner would not credit us for even half the amount even though we left after the 1st night.

I am writing to share my experience during my recent visit to your hotel. We checked in at 14:30 but unfortunately checked out just one hour later. The room was extremely dirty, and the noise level was unbearable. Due to these issues, we were unable to stay at the property.
