Friendly desk staff, helpful and accommodating. Well informed and willing to help.
The room was small but enough for one night. The bed was really comfortable as well.
The hotel has a Hot Bad that accommodates 4~6 people at once.
Really wonderful being able to take a very hot bad at such large place.
and all at no extra charge.
Only thing bad I have to say about the place is there was this smell of "fresh" paint all throughout.
Bothered me a bit, but it was easy to put up with.
I will be staying again in October and look forward to it.
Unfortunately I took no photos. Will do so next time.

Metal doors, wooden floors, very low shower head. But ok..
Friendly check-in with free drinks in the lobby (tea/coffee and carbonated drinks machines). I got there about 30 mins before 3pm check-in and they did the passport formalities straight away, gave me a numbered slip, then at 2.50pm gave me the (old fashioned) key. Quite an efficient system.
Quite an old fashioned business hotel.
Rooms have hollow metal doors (!) and wooden floors. This means it is very noisy, with the scraping of chairs from the rooms above and doors closing with a hollow ringing bang.
Aircon quite old, with ancient 1980s push buttons, and makes a gurgling sound (which didn't bother me, but will some people) and worked well.
TV was medium-sized, slightly wonky, but had YouTube streaming, which I always appreciate.
The shower head was only 5'6" above the tub, and could not be adjusted, and the ceiling of the modular bathroom is 6'. So if you're tall you will struggle here.
I used the laundry facilities here, but they only have 2 pairs of washer/dryers for the entire hotel and it was busy at 1am when I did mine with people loitering to use the dryers (which are set to a lower heat than elsewhere are 200yen for 1 hour still left my clothes slightly damp. Normally they are dry after this amount of time in other hotel machines).
So, this was ok, but it's quite a tired hotel.

It's cost-effective.
The front desk area is beautiful, but the room is old.
It was no problem at all because it was just so cheap that I just slept.
There was a sauna and a public bath, but it was very disappointing not to have a bath.

Anyway, I walk about 15 minutes uphill from the station. It felt further than I could see on the map. Best of all, I couldn't find a direct way to get to Kokubun.

It is an old hotel, so there are some things that can't be helped, but considering the current hotel prices in Sendai, it may be a good balance. I didn't have to worry about the smell.

There were a lot of outlets, so it wasn't a problem.

I don't know because I didn't touch the air conditioner because it was almost winter and it wasn't that cold yet.

Anyway, hotel prices are getting higher everywhere. Sendai is no different, and while it is expensive everywhere, this is the only place where you can stay cheaply. I think the price is still low even if you use the taxi fare, so I wonder if there is any better point.
However, it is inconvenient to go to Kokubuncho, etc., but there is a short walk to the rental bicycle station, so it is best to download the app and become a member to ride. However, after drinking, please take a taxi.
