Small coastal town with a lot of tourists and night life places, good for families/ friends at the beach for the month or just a few days. Good for active people as well since there are many beach sport facilities.
If you love a crazy night life, beach living, cheap hotels, and are 20-30-something, Salou can be one wild trip. I had a blast staying here with my friends near town (everything is pretty much within walking distance), spending the day at the beach and going to clubs/bars at night. There is so much to do - the town even has a big amusement park nearby (called PortAventura). Lots of Australians, Brits, Germans and Swedes living/working here in the summer
Very nice place to be in,on holiday.Plenty to do.Very good atmosphere all round.Very close to Portaventura, water park.Good bars and restuarants.Night entertainment, plenty to choose from.Very good food and drink.Very good shops too.
Is it your first time in Salou? Have you come before but you don’t know what else you could do apart from sunbathing? Here are some tips!! Visit Salou markets and do some shopping!! The best way to buy handicrafts or gifts is to visit Salou markets. 3 minutes away from Medplaya Calypso Hotel***, there is a masia catalana (Catalan house), rural houses representing a typical Catalan village. During summer, it holds a handicraft market, open from 7.00 p.m. Apart from that, the masia includes entertainment for children. Every Monday, a weekly market takes place in Salou, and the most ambitious guests can visit sunday market in Bonavista, a suburb 5 km away from Salou. At the beginning of September, Salou celebrates the Medieval Market, with typical handicrafts and many activities for the little ones. Salou also has something for those who want to buy articles from the leading brands. Jaime I street (the promenade), Zaragoza street and Barcelona street is where the boutiques are situated. Apart from that, Tarragona and Reus are a shopping paradise, not being far away from Salou, and though you have to take a bus to get there, the stop is just beside the Med Playa Calypso Hotel***.
