My room was spacious, well furnished and decorated, and spotless. The shower was great, as was the bed. My only complaint was that it wasn’t air conditioned, but air conditioning is rare in Scotland and it happened to be quite warm when I visited. They did provide a fairly powerful fan and I had no trouble sleeping.

Shambolic

I booked a 'Deluxe Double Room' via a third party provider. On arrival at the guest house the owner said 'there had been a problem with the room' - i.e. I presume they had double booked it. Therefore there was no double room for me only a single. They said they were going to contact me but didn't have valid contact details and asked me why I had put my phone number in as repeated 1s. I hadn't, my details were all correct in the third party booking system. The fault for not having my contact details may have been the guest house's or the third party provider, but the fault for somehow double booking the room presumably lies with the guest house.
I was therefore given a very small single room with a small bed. It's a good thing I'm not tall.
In the morning I requested an iron and ironing board, a relatively standard item for a guesthouse of this type to have. The owner had said if I needed anything to press the Ring doorbell and someone would come. I did this but no response, so I rang the phone number and he said someone would bring them. Shortly after a lady turned up (in her pyjamas!) with an iron but apparently no ironing board was available so I was given an old shelf wrapped in a sheet (see photo)!
The fridge in the room seemed to be leaking so there was water on the floor.
The owner had said at check in that he would give me a partial refund of £20 cash on departure for not having the right room. Neither the owner nor the cash were present at departure... He asked me (on the phone) to write my bank details on a scrap of paper given to me by his assistant, which I wasn't exactly keen to do, so I got an email from him and emailed them to him. That was over three weeks ago and no communication or money so far.
Really disappointed and sad about the whole experience. Doubt I'll ever see any of my money back.

The room was spacious, clean and beautiful. I booked a room with breakfast and there was no breakfast available. The owner/manager told me to park on the street right next to the inn. I received a parking violation citation because the street parking was only for residents with proper parking stickers and not for guests of the inn.

Clean room and on suite ,extremely helpful staff amazing deco and good location only 30 mins walk to the centre

Booked apartment with friends before a rave had song and stuff on having a laugh, then the guy just phoned said we better leave left us nowhere to stay not even a warning idiot of a guy
