Charlottesville is a pretty easy city to like. I love the mix of old and new -- historic architecture mixed with the constant buzz of young energy from UVA students. There's also art and lots and lots of beer (seriously, I think there are like three beer gardens per capita).

A weekend in Charlottesville will be a weekend full of history and relaxation. Known primarily for being home to the University of Virginia campus, Charlottesville has been an important city since before the Civil War. Be sure to visit Monticello, the former home of President Thomas Jefferson and hit the historic old town before heading downtown to check out southern inspired restaurants and get your fill of nightlife.

Cute town with a lot of colonial history. Definitely have to check out Monticello if you are in the area, and if you can Madison's and Monroe's homes are not too far away either.
